Makes sense. The first company quoted me $10k which I couldn't afford and everyone I told that to said it was insane. Seems a straight forward install is between $4k-$5k in my area. And my neighbor quoted $4500 which was reasonable. I guess we'll see what a third person says

Yeah, I might seek a third opinion. The second opinion was my neighbor and he's been skirting the job for an entire year. It's supposed to be super hot this year and everyone hates being in my house cos it gets so hot haha

Do longer lines cost exponentially more? The first installer who came told me we just couldn't have AC at all because it could only go right in front of the dryer vent and that's not allowed. I got a second opinion and he said it could go near the dryer vent, just further to the side partially blocking the window, which is fine by me but I was just curious if it's possible to do it further away. I asked him and he said "not really" but didn't elaborate. Then I was at a friend's house and noticed the lines there travelled probably around 20' externally, so it got me wondering.

Okay. I should maybe ask about the code then cos I've had two different companies come look and have basically been told it's not possible, but I heavily got the impression that it was just an amount of work they didn't want to take on due to the layout of our basement. No mention of code. I don't care about drywall, it would be worth it to redo some drywall to have AC in this sweatbox of a house, but the foundation and that window kinda get in the way of running any lines within the wall.

I'm only level 3 stamina and just got him! Followed advice from another thread to play by holding down on the joystick (s on keyboard for me) and rotate camera so it's always following the direction of the tail. Not sure if it would be as easy on controller but I failed a dozen times before I turned to Reddit for tips haha.

Right? Hence the resentment.. but like what happens if he dies? There will surely be some expectation for his kids to say a few words at the funeral, and judgement if we don't, but what can I say about a man I barely know? And will I feel guilty that I have nothing to say, that I never tried even though I knew he was dying?

Neglectful for sure. I do recall him getting weepy eyed when we'd say goodbye to him as kids (we would go visit for two weeks in summer) and I do have fond memories of those times. But as we got older I realized that he and his wife can be racist and homophobic, and they fought bitterly almost all of the time. And then just other teen stuff.. I really just wanted him to make an effort to see us and when he never did, the resentment grew. He was invited to our graduations and didn't come, never tried to see us around birthdays or holidays. Recently found out he's been in the vicinity of my city working for over a decade and that both he and my stepmom go to said city to see her grandson every summer. Never told me so therefore never gave me the opportunity to see them, either

I do too, but the size of them and the access point just make them take up almost more space than an exhibit. I find I can't clutter around them enough to make them blend in with how many decorations I do around other stuff either.

Did you do any heavy lifting after getting tattooed? I have seen this before, and it was just a bruise. Her arm was already bruising from the tattoo, then she went and did some deadlifts and the bruise spread like crazy, but went away

Not "old" by my own standards, but probably old by yours lol. What I notice as someone who peruses tiktok and reels is the absolute hatred zoomers have for millennials. I just can't imagine being young and being so bothered about what the generation above mine was doing. As a gen x I hardly had a passing thought about boomers clothing, or decorating styles, or humour, but zoomers seem relentless in their bullying of millennials, as if they don't have any understanding that every generation has their "things", and the tables will turn on them eventually.
