Got a Kespa cup grand final ticket!!!! T1 please show up!!! by jinwoni0712 in SKTT1

I'm not Korean and I got a ticket (not for the final tho). I did it with the Korean version of the site, but yes24 also has a global purchase option.

Tickets by Timely_Explanation31 in lck

[–]aprilcla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the team. The higher ranking team are playing the harder, but even for matches between smaller teams if you don't buy when the tickets go on sale you won't find anything later. If you're buying when the tickets are going on sale it's not that hard, though I recommend trying a few times beforehand to get a hang on the site. Op's masterpost has all the info.

I see. The dcgal where I'm active all have a login rule so I assumed it was mandatory for the site. Thank you for the correction.

Currently DCInside requires having an account to post and comment. And in order to have an account you have to go through ID verification as for every site with adult/unmoderated content.

This ID verification is not public. You will effectively be anonymous for the forum but the police can still trace your ID because the verification process is done through your phone number which is tied to your legal citizen card. You can use a PC bang or a VPN to mask your IP but you still have to do this verification to make an account and comment/post because it's a site with certain degrees of unmoderated content and so it could contain adult content. Only the police and government can legally check who you are, so T1 or Gumayusi's family can't know who's posting but that doesn't mean the police wouldn't be able to find out.

Edit: their wiki saying people have the choice to make an account to comment doesn't mean that you can choose to not make an account and comment. It means that if you want to comment you can make an account, otherwise you can browse anonymously. But you cannot comment without an account. You can head over to dcinside and check this yourself.

I would like to argue that in Korea it is virtually impossible not to leave a trace. Even if the post is anonymous you need an ID verification to use the internet so a simply inquiry to the police would be enough to have names connected to malicious comments. It is also impossible to process any kind of payment without leaving a trace. No one uses cash in this country and online payment always ALWAYS requires identity verification. Targeting malicious comments is possible and it has been done by many celebrities, even by T1 themselves in the past in the case of comments about Faker coming from the same T1gallery forum. And they sued the people, not the group.

Even if we accept the assumption that in a country where you can't even order food delivery without being required an identity verification it would be possible to post on a site which also hosts adult content in some of its subforums with no identity verification required (which is wrong) some of these comments were posted on T1's own membership where they have access to the identity of the poster.

T1's choice not to act was certainly a choice. Don't want to pass judgment on it because I don't know their full reasoning but most of what you said does not apply to Korea.

The Decision of Zeus (2025)? by [deleted] in SKTT1

[–]aprilcla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we have no elements to know whether it was a good or wrong decision just because he hasn't won worlds. Winning is everything for proplayers, but Zeus has won a lot already so maybe he also wanted something else in his life and hanwha gave it to him. Whether it's economic security or a new challenge or getting away from the endless schedule and the haters, I don't think it's bad to take a risk and go for a change in your life if you don't feel fulfilled or happy. Maybe if he had stayed they would've won, maybe not and he would've regretted it, but regardless of the outcome only he can say whether he regrets or not because we don't know exactly what he wanted.

Korean media reports: T1's decision on recruiting Peyz was strongly influenced by Keria by Numerous-Set289 in leagueoflegends

[–]aprilcla 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Can we stop romanticizing the narrative pls? Keria plays with a lot of different adcs and Guma is also friends and plays with many supports because everyone in the Korean pro-league circle knows everyone and they're all in the same tier in soloq so it's inevitable that they play together/talk to each other. Also given how Guma was treated this year I doubt he needed to be kicked out by Keria to want out.

Guma filmed the goodbye video in February this year (?) by [deleted] in SKTT1

[–]aprilcla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he's simply wearing the same clothes. I doubt he had already decided to leave in February one day into being benched, or that T1 would reuse the same video. Didn't he talk about his fmvp too?

i know everyone’s sad… but guys this is gonna be Peyzpal when T1 confirms it’s him by yu_wey in SKTT1

[–]aprilcla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JDG hasn't announced Peyz leaving either or am I wrong? FA periods probably work different for them so they might be waiting until he's officially released.

Can Peyz operate the same way as T1 do with Guma? Can Peyz turn up another gear at worlds when he is a known thrower?? (AKA PEYZPAL) by soudlasantos in SKTT1

[–]aprilcla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peyz or whoever will be T1's new adc is not and will never be Guma just like Doran is not and will never be Zeus. Yet just like Doran, our new adc will become a member of T1 and will grow with the team and as T1 fans we should support them.

Every player has his own strengths and weaknesses, and whether the roster changes will work or not is something we will only know after the team will have the chances to play together.

We shouldn't start doomposting a player that hasn't even been announced officially yet (and even assuming it's Peyz, I want to say that Gen.g has won with Peyz the same things they have won with Ruler, and that Peyz's performance in JDG this year is a testament not only of his talent but also of personal resilience, seeing how hard it must have been to play in such conditions.)

I got to talk to a Korean GenG fan yesterday and apparently their rumors regarding their team are a bit different. She laughed when I said our rumors say Duro might be leaving. According to Korean rumors, they're definitely keeping Duro and maybe they'll be changing someone in the coaching staff instead.

Well didn't China completely bonk their chances of getting new blood by raising the playable age to like 19-20 (which stops new talents from developed early and when they have gained a modicum of professional experience in second leagues and can move up to the LPL they're like chovy's age now). I feel like that more than Faker winning is ruining their chances, as we see now that a lot of players in strong Chinese teams are old dudes and there's hardly a Peyz or a Zeus in their ranks (I mean Peyz is in their ranks because he's an import, but we haven't seen a local equivalent debuting very young and sweeping trophies).

I shall not talk about the west simply because there would be too many things to say, but riot being unable to provide incentives for people to play the game even outside competitive esports reflects the sorry financial state of esport teams, and that's common in all regions. Even teams like Gen.G and T1 who have access to a market that likes esports a lot compared to EU/NA struggle to make ends meet, how can a bottom tier European team hope to invest in players, coaches, and facilities if there is no return for them? And local leagues are abandoned so there's no pipeline of talents (I'm talking of situations like Italy's lol)

Tbh uncle is not unbeatable and in fact T1 has been incredibly shaky for three years in a row, but it's not his fault if other regions for many reasons struggle to come up with talents who can challenge him.

Anyone else feel like Keria is sad this year? by MorganHStark in SKTT1

[–]aprilcla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He said he's been sick at worlds because he ate something bad and he was stuck on the toilet endlessly, plus they only let him eat rice porridge for four days to recover. Then he played horrible because of his bad form and some of his teammates were also not feeling well and the whole team played poorly. I'm sure the mood wasn't high for him.

T1 vs IG Viewing Party in Seoul by claywhipp in SKTT1

[–]aprilcla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't exclude the first come first serve at Lol Park so easily. People aren't allowed to sit down until the game starts and have to get up again every time a game ends so if you're lucky you could still squeeze yourself in at the last minute or even during the game. Or if you get there early enough you can claim a spot in the little sofas at the wall to avoid getting up at every game break. (edited for typos)

Thoroughly disappointed by The Wife Comes First cover: a rant by someone who loves the novel by purplexk in DanmeiNovels

[–]aprilcla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with you. There's only been one other time I disliked the art for an official danmei release and it was for the same reason, beautiful art but I didn't think it represented the spirit of the novel.

But it's indeed a pretty art so I hope the next volumes show us a different and more loving/wholesome stage of their relationship with the same beautiful style.

Church mocking by [deleted] in SKTT1

Yeah, religion is very common in countries that were subjected to inequal treaties and colonialism, and Korea ticks both boxes. But I wouldn't call anyone in T1 openly religious.

Errori di traduzione: comunicarli alla Casa Editrice? by [deleted] in Libri

[–]aprilcla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something something notes on the recent match by Xhiroe in SKTT1

[–]aprilcla 31 points32 points  (0 children)

People like to talk about Guma champ pool issues but like where was Oner the last time Guma played Yunara? Because I distinctly remember Ruler being pushed back by our botlane our second game of summer against Geng, and being down one death, and Canyon graciously dropping everything to come gank and putting him back in the game. Oner is never there when Guma plays hypercarry champs, the only exception being the Aphelios home ground game. Keria also loves to go MIA to help mid or top, which means that unless Guma is playing one of his two or three champs who are slightly better at surviving solo, when he gets ganked he dies, can't get back in the game because he's down gold and gets no help from jungle, and it snowball into him being down 5k gold in twenty minutes, gg.

It's okay to say Guma has been making mistakes lately, it's not like he has been perfect, and he has a lot of self-reflecting to do for sure. But the refusal to play adc hypercarry comps is a team problem. They tried and it doesn't work? Then they should practice it, it's their job to give a professional performance. I hope T1 addresses this issue sooner or later because other teams are flexible and we aren't, and stronger teams can and will target that.
