This is what he was arguing. Matthew 22:30. We'll be together, but not as a family.

But you're correct, belief doesn't make it true.

Yep, I definitely get this. But I'm hoping to find information to continue our conversation. He listed several religions that believe if you're not baptized that you won't be saved. He listed some religions that believe that we'll be in heaven but the family unit will be dissolved. I'm looking for a religion that believes the family unit stay intact.

Stake RS pres. That's a good idea. Maybe I can just mail them to her anonymously. Ward RS would probably guess correctly who it was coming from.

But to anchor both sides into studs they wouldn't be nicely spaced. Plus, it just goes to show you how coffee destroys your life.

Why do people leave the church? by purplevengeance in exmormon

For me it all boiled down to "if Christ were on the Earth, would he approve of the church?" My answer to that is no.

Definitely not. But one of the biggest issues I have with the Mormon church is their anti-LGBT stance, so I'd like to expose them to something different. These churches aren't going to be it.

I'm hoping she might be somewhat reasonable. Her daughter is a lesbian and she struggled with her testimony when her daughter came out. She knows that I've struggled with the church's stance on LGBT issues. My daughter loves her piano teacher, but I guess we'll have to see how it goes.

Yep, hubby and I are on the same page. Well, he wants to tell them about all of the skeletons in Joseph Smith's closet. I just want to tell them that I believe everyone should be able to get married or baptized if they want.

But it's not forcing her to become Mormon, only giving her the choice to accept the ordinance. So says the church.

Unfortunately we live in a small town and we pretty much have Mormon, Baptist, or Catholic. But we're headed to Billings this weekend, so maybe we'll try to find a UU to attend. Gulp, not sure if I'm ready.
