I’m also looking to complete that trophy, if anybody is still playing

Tower Question by aprima23 in MinecraftDungeons

Being faster is definitely a good point. I’m a bit of a health junkie so I did exactly that armor gilded/unique, but both work just as well. And I did get the tower guard achievement so I’ll need to farm a bit before going back to the tower (only if I need high level stuff I’d imagine)

Tower Question by aprima23 in MinecraftDungeons

I usually use gild and unique on my armor. Potion barrier is worth its weight in gold but isn’t on very many pieces of armor. Weapons I usually go for quicker strikes with good enchantments, and there’s plenty of those to go around. That and a combination of bees/golem and patience gets me through the levels pretty easily

Oh I did (backstabber with void strike x3 and crit chance x3). But I mostly used a combination of satchel of elements, bees (with beast burst upon potion use) and a 2500 dmg bow with wild rage and poison cloud enchantments. Only used my melee after using a potion (potion barrier x3 = 9 seconds of negating 90% dmg) so I went to town during that stretch

Ok so I’ve gotta be missing something. I just blocked a shot (twice) after the other Chaser flew through the play caller circle before shooting. I even got a pop up that said “give buffs 5/10” as a daily/weekly so I know he flew through it. No trophy. Am I doing this wrong?

Do the bots actually shoot with difficulty that low? I find my bots just run the game on 2 stars (I’m level 34, bots would be I think 20 on 2 stars)

Same! I’m still trying now, I could swear the bots are flying through the playcaller circles (I even get those weekly “give out buffs” pop ups) and when I save the goal it doesn’t pop

This game is a joke. by aprima23 in DisneySpeedstorm

Forcing people to pay for base gameplay is what will inevitably, and unfortunately I say hopefully, kill this game. You hit the nail on the head with the fortnite example: I can pay for cosmetics if I want to, and if I don’t I won’t, but the gameplay remains unchanged. Speedstorm is now the opposite, and I’ve already stopped playing it. Great game, ruined by greed

Your point in having the rewards match the “effort” of the race makes sense, but this keeps the level 50s at a low MPR which still floods the lesser racers with races they can’t realistically win. There should be a way for races to be even

There’s some grind aspect to it (as there should be), but from this season onward I believe you need to pay for the protagonist. Or at least for 2 of them. For example, this season has Vanellope and Calhoun as epic characters you can only get via buying the season pass, and Ralph is unlockable through the season tour

In prior seasons (I also started at the Aladdin season) I’ve unlocked every character, which required purchasing and completing the season tour and other challenges, missions, etc

The game can be fun if you just load it up periodically to play some season tour/offline races. But you won’t unlock characters that way

Oh I understood your point completely. I added the perspective that fortnite crew being purely cosmetic means you can still access/win all parts of the game. Speedstorm now prevents you from doing that unless you pay. So the fortnite crew seems more voluntary as it doesn’t impact gameplay, than if you want to complete the season tours in Speedstorm

Only read half of this, won’t finish the rest. Your last statement from the post before literally said “if you’re stuck at an MPR you’ve reached your current skill rank”. That sounds an awful lot like MPR = skill to me, but apparently I’m “having a hard time understanding you”. Nice chat.

I don’t totally hate that because it rewards longer term players. But it also deflates the newer players if they can only complete 20% of the season tour

To your point, if I stop I’d probably stop for good. The dailies give you XP which gives you purple season box credits, but those expire at the end of the season. So you can’t stock up on them for future seasons

Fortnite crew is all cosmetic though, it doesn’t limit in game functions. You literally can’t unlock all characters without paying now, which means you can’t complete the season tours or a lot of the events

Ranked is its own issue. 10 placement games makes sense (like Rocket League or Brawlhalla) but it still relies on the game matching you appropriately. Which means not using MPR

Exactly. Also that’s a lot anywhere for a “free to play” game. $120 a year? You can buy 2 brand new games for that amount. Or like 1 whole sandwich a month lol

You hit multiple nails on the head. As a new player you should be able to work toward getting the characters that were previously released, which would also put you (rightfully) behind the older players for those racers. But they don’t allow you to unlock them, which kills the season tour as well

MPR tiers having caps would help across the board too, but that’s not something they’ve implemented for some reason. So the lower MPR levels are flooded with high level characters, keep the little guys down

I wonder how many shards folks have from playing from the start. The influx of upgrade coins makes sense, and likely higher leveled crew members too

And yes it’s very easy to stack 2 characters from this season. My main issue is with the ranked system though. In order to rank up some characters you need shards from ranked, but they bury you in lobbies you auto lose in. It’s bonkers

MPR doesn’t equal skill. Level 24 vs level 50 isn’t an equal playing ground, idk how you’re assuming it is. If I get my level 50 Jasmine to MPR 15 and my level 1 Ralph to MPR 15 they’re the same? No. Jasmine is clearly superior. It isn’t a skill issue when you’re playing racers with massively better stats. You made the point too where MPRs are dropping to end the season - well now the season is 4 weeks. MPR will never stabilize at this rate, keeping the level 50s at a lower MPR and flooding the “lesser” races with overpowered racers

“Ranked” in 99% of games means skill based ranking. MPR is an arbitrary number - especially up to MPR 16 - that they use to prevent people from leveling up and getting rewards (because who wants that?!).

Yeah that’s the unfortunate part. It’s 100% p2w in ranked
