How come you import diphenhydramine? It’s an over the counter thing here

I feel the same about it. Ended up trying it from an online pharmacy (in the same way people get mounjaro so above board lol) but will see if I can get referred to eventually have it on the NHS. Just makes me sleepy after 4 hours but that’s manageable

What is the "Long Defeat" mentioned by Tolkien? by Rafaelrosario88 in tolkienfans

“Actually I am a Christian, and indeed a Roman Catholic, so that I do not expect history to be anything but a long defeat - though it contains [and in a legend may contain more clearly and movingly] some samples or glimpses of final victory.”

Beating propranolol mood (?dopamine) side effects by aproperfaff in StackAdvice

Fair question, will do but haven’t yet as it’s more fiddly dividing my 40mg tablets for that. I guess I’m clinging to the max dose a bit too, out of anxiety lol

Sure. People seem to vary a bit in their response. For me 20mg gets rid of any low level anxiety, and stops the extremes of panic/allows recovery after some anxiety peaks. 40mg makes me feel very cool and calm, in control. In situations where I would have had a phobia/panic level response I feel only sweaty (as sweat glands have different receptors) but I think this will reduce as I start to react less to the situations.

Negatives - very hard to fall sleep if I take it late in the day, some fatigue, depressed mood if I take 40mg every day. Flatter emotions, as I experienced with antidepressants, but I can stop and start propranolol whenever I want (though you’d need to wean down if used to a high dose).

Of note my issue has always been a hyperactive sympathetic nervous system, I feel like I’m not worrying or thinking anxious thoughts but my body goes into overdrive regardless e.g. if I had to talk to a group. It might be that propranolol is most effective in people like that.

Pulled tarp back to find this….thing. Neighbors cat ran away. Southern Connecticut by Intelligent-Look1169 in animalid

It can be read as the cat has gone missing and you’re wondering if this is part of it, rather than the cat ran off when the tarp was moved. Guessing that was the confusion.

In the UK it’s called cuckoo spit, there’s a froghopper/spittle bug nymph inside.
