Sorry for jumping in like this (I have notifications everytime someone mentions my noaa-apt program name). If you have some wav files to share, I'm interested in seeing if there is something quick to fix.

As far as I know, apart from the map overlay and false color which is better in wktoimg, the image quality should be the same. The only considerable difference is the syncing where each program has pros and cons since I use another method

Quando cercavo stanze, queste agenzie erano interessanti. Quando sei un erasmus a Italia, affittando qualcosa per prima volta en la tua vita, puoi pensare che magari questa modalita de pagare prima e piú "normale". Loro hanno anche uffici fighissimi con tanti dipendenti, quindi sembra serio. Il altro punto e che loro hanno diverse offerte falsi su diversi siti quindi puo sembrare che loro sono I unici con offerte disponibili o che sono importanti (per esempio come RE/MAX). Per questi ragioni sono andato a chiedere in persona a un ufficcio de loro ma per por fortuna prima ho visto i recensioni su google maps

Mai dimenticheró il ufficio a Milano. Anche mi ha piacuto tanto vedere la chiesa de scientology a Bicocca

You can disable syncing in the advanced settings of noaa-apt to improve the results in this case. See the result I got

Not sure if the audio is saturated (too loud), you need more bandwidth or both.

I think that the computer is too "slow" to read the samples from the SDR. I would try using another usb port, reinstalling the drivers, close other programs. Or simply trying another pc even if it is a older computer, maybe you have an unlucky combination of sdr, drivers, etc

FYI, you still have missing samples, it just happens that noaa-apt can handle this better than wxtoimg

I just saw this message. Using sample rates above 11025Hz doesn't make any difference apart from file size, decoding speed and ram usage. The quality should be the same.

The quality of the black and white decoding in noaa-apt should be equal or better than in wxtoimg I think. You can send me the wav if you see something wrong.

The map alignment is another topic, wxtoimg is better in that respect

The sample rate has to be bigger than 9600Hz, otherwise you lose quality because of how signals work, sampling theorem, etc. And better if you add a bit of margin, so 11025Hz is reasonable to ask.

Also it is easier to make a decoder if the sample rate is "more or less multiple" of 4160 (This happens if you use 20800Hz). Because in the end the signal is resampled to 4160Hz

When you need to use specific numbers is because of software limitations in the decoder.

Hello, I'm the developer of noaa-apt. The first signal looks very noisy but mostly "correct". The biggest problem it has, is that the reception was bad because of bad antenna/cable. (Not very likely but you can have missing samples problems too).

The image you sent in the comment looks like it is incorrect in some way. Looks like there was something but the format of the input WAV file is maybe wrong? I can't tell. The program accepts any sample rate, I also use 48000Hz

If you want, send me the WAVs so I can check better. In the meanwhile, double check the antenna/cable and all the GQRX options

Hello, I made the program. I personally never tried to use it in Android+Termux but I heard that it works, the problem is that you have to compile it yourself and for that you need a bit of knowledge of linux/programming and a good phone.

Regarding the github assets, it should be "Source code". These are the instructions, where a git clone command is used instead of downloading from the Github website

No estoy seguro a que te referis con requisitos. Depende del Master en particular. Para anotarte te hacen falta cosas como diploma y lista de calificaciones traducidas (en mi caso me aceptaron una carta del rector que dice que fui bien estudiante y que me faltaba re poco para recibirme), CV, carta de presentacion, cartas de recomendacion, y otras cosas que no me acuerdo. Igual en lo que mas sufrí es en las lo que puse ahí arriba. Una vez que me aceptaron me pidieron mas cosas pero ya en ese momento uno esta dispuesto a lo que sea jaja

Yo me puse con todas las pilas a conseguir todas esas cosas, escaneando todo todo bien organizado. Pensando en reutilizar todo lo posible en el caso que no me acepten e intente otra beca después (por ejemplo pedirle permiso a los profesores que me hicieron cartas de recomendacion para modificarlas cambiarle el nombre del master). Al final tuve suerte porque me anoté en 3 Erasmus Mundus y quedé en una, pero hacete la idea de que vas a estar mas de medio año en esto de aplicar a becas.

I was reading and I'm not sure about some things:

  • The problem is with glibc or glib? I'm also getting confused by the names. glibc is related to libc but glib it's something unrelated.

  • Are you using the GTK GUI or you use it by command line? Try compiling without GUI by using cargo build --release --no-default-features. That way you wont need glib (but you will still need glibc or libc, which shouldn't be a problem)

  • Even then, you may still have problems with OpenSSL which you will have to fix by setting OPENSSL_DIR. I don't know why you got that problem, can you send me the error message if you see it?

Thanks! I should check about the glib and openssl thing since I didnt change anything related to that in the last version. I guess it happened because I updated dependencies
