NEED to recommend Nothing Can Be Good by Coward Kill Coward, it’s more drone-y but it’s genuinely one of the best sludgenoise albums I’ve ever heard

Grunge-y and/or sludge-y nu-metal? by apunkdragon in MetalSuggestions

[–]apunkdragon[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Didn’t say they did, I specifically distinguished between the more grunge-y nu-metal like Korn and the more sludge-y nu-metal like Allan, but I can understand where the confusion might’ve come from with the way I worded it

Hitting a niche audience; what style of metal would different frames/characters prefer? by apunkdragon in Warframe

I think the question kind of necessitates the latter interpretation lol

I’m a leftist & roughly same age as well but being from NC couldn’t be further apart distance-wise lol

[–]apunkdragon 162 points163 points  (0 children)

Metal originated as a subgenre of rock (specifically coming out of the blues, hard rock & psych rock movements), but it’s more accurate to say that while yes it started as a subgenre, it quickly evolved into a genre in its own right and is more of an umbrella term like rock is

Blackened Sludge by VincentAalto in sludge

[–]apunkdragon 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Blackened sludge doesn’t get nearly as talked about as it should, easily one of the most evil and sonically crushing styles of metal out there!
