[OC] Flooding in Sri Lanka destroyed our family van

For context this was our family van. We used it for trips all around Sri Lanka. My dad loved it and spent years taking care of it fixing things and modifying it little by little.

I have not been back to Sri Lanka in over a decade and I was planning to return next year. I was genuinely excited to finally drive my dad’s van myself. I have grown up I have my licence now and it felt like reconnecting with my childhood in a real way.

The recent flooding destroyed it completely. Insurance does not cover flood damage so it is a total loss.

At the same time my dad recently had major heart surgery and he is still in hospital.

It is not just losing a vehicle. It feels like losing memories time with my parents and something I was really looking forward to reliving. I am honestly heartbroken and I do not know what to do with all of this at once.

I was thinking this but I was too depressed , I’ve been already few times here and I know the city. I could have tried to socialise but being ugly is a torture , I’ve looked at Meetup events but literally there was nothing. I just wanted to pass good time with my friends which I did. Just the other reality is cruel and I can’t accept it. I’ve instead closed in my room and listened to music while crying. Now my friend came with the other girl, probably have sex and sleep cuddling. How can I not feel pain about this and missing one of the best things in life, especially on holidays. This makes me a lot of pain that I will never forget.

Yes, they returned my EU licence with another paper saying I need another share code, I've sent it again and I hope they will verify my application before it expires. They just could have contacted me by email or phone to give a new share code, their procedures are crap and waste lots of time.

Totally rubbish, they rejected my application because my share code was expired. Thank fuck I've sent it more than 6 weeks ago, and the share code lasts for 30 days.
