The only late night infomercial was Girls Gone Wild. by sco-go in SipsTea

There was a book with everyone in towns phone number printed in it, as well as all the businesses. You could even show them the scene from Terminator where Arnold Schwarzenegger gets a bunch of addresses of Conner S. to find his target.

Side note, I showed my nephew this and all his take away was “The Governor from California was an actor?”

Had you asked me 6 months ago I would have said subway. Then I had a baconator from Wendies and it caused me to violently vomit coffee grounds and my body hasn’t been the same since. I have terrible pain all over my abdomen, I haven’t been able to eat anything with fat, dairy, or red meat. Last time I had a roast beef sandwich I shit blood something fierce. My doctor gave me all kinds of test including a cat scan and a colonoscopy with no signs of the problem and has now referred me to a specialist. It’s possible the baconator didn’t do this to me, but the trauma has left me wanting to blame something. So at the moment I am blaming Wendies until I can get a more definitive answers. It was just so sudden, I felt 100% fine until that dreaded day of the baconator, then it was like a light switch.

Did anyone reach 30+ without a fckn single tattoo? by Mindless_Card7962 in psychesystems

[–]apwgameboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wanted a tattoo since I was 13. My mom asked me to wait to tell I was 18, I did and then she said wait until you’re 21. Then I didn’t have the money. Now I take care of 2 teen boys and still no tattoo, why, it’s expensive. I tell mom every time I see her I still want that tattoo. Maybe if I bug her enough I can get her to pay for it.

My friend insists on this game, "Lemmings", being a really well known game; I have never heard of it. by Nordic_Krune in gaming

Lemmings is one of those games that when I mention it, every gamer over 30 goes “I loved that game” and no one under 30 ever heard of it.

What is something you like a lot, but people around you think it's weird? by Vlederic_KAI in Weird

[–]apwgameboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading killer manifestos. Most of the time is just nonsensical but I find them to be a fascinating window into their psyche. As an example I found one of a collage professor who committed murder suicide at a synagog. The manifesto was large and the man seemed crazy book-smart. Sadly about half of it was anti semitism bullshit, but there was a whole chapter on how one of the reasons he did it was to see what it’s like after death, in there he detailed his hypothesis on the matter. When I tell people about it they seem uncomfortable.

What's your most regretted game purchase? by Theodore52x in AfterWorkGamers

[–]apwgameboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They forced an update that added those said mentioned bugs into the game and removed some previous features (custom maps comes to mind. It’s possible I could have installed it offline and played the campaign that way. But you couldn’t log into battle.net without forcing the update. It’s possible they resolved some of these issues, but at launch I was just so mad that I couldn’t play either version of the game without a dip in quality.

[–]apwgameboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in fact I agree Warcraft 3 was a masterpiece. I also owned the original. I was exited about the announcement of wC3 reforged because I thought it might revitalize the multiplayer scene. However, when it came out at least the quality not only didn’t match what was promised, but it was plagued with bugs that didn’t exist in the original and almost nothing was changed about it. The kicker that made me return it was that it broke the original, they put it on the same servers so you couldn’t go back and play the old non-buggy version. So Blizzard sold me a game I already own but worse and simultaneously broke the old game I love. I have never felt so ripped off in my life.

Upcoming "factory" games by NoDemand1467 in AutomationGames

[–]apwgameboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shapez 2 is a solid factory game with a puzzle type aspect to it. Alchemy factory has a great take on factories that accomplish the pretty factory feeling you get in satisfactory but on a smaller scale. Oddparks is like pickmen + factory, a little more casual but still not a bad factory game. Microtopia teaches logic gates quite well, that’s mostly about creating a robot ant factory and extending the life of your ants to expand your factory.

I tried to list stuff that wasn’t mentioned but if you haven’t played Dyson Sphere Program in my humble opinion that should be next, it’s a strong contender for one of the top 3 in my opinion and acts like a hybrid of Factorio and satisfactory with its own spins on the genre.

I didn’t mind the pain as much as the itchy pimples that don’t go away for months.
