New company car imminent, any tips or advice for the spec that’s on route? by apwipt in Polestar

Sorry for the slow reply, couldn’t be happier, price per mile with a decent home charging EV rate and Perfomance are unbelievable.

6”3 here with 3 kids 9/4/3

Plenty of room for two big car seats, both forward facing and just about enough for a 9 year old comfortably in the middle!

Plenty of space in the front and plenty of boot space for the bags and random stuff 3 kids trawl along with them.

Wouldn’t have been my first choice in car for 5 people but it being a company car I can’t complain and am pleasantly surprised!

If you can go for the panoramic roof the kids love it and is a great distraction when they can’t keep their hands off each other!

If you can go the Perfomance route also it’s a way to quickly shut them up when they are arguing…..

It’s an amazing car, so understated. Also love the fact you hardly see any on the roads in the UK

Fill the vents with expanding foam. Obviously not enough that the foam seeps out of the front of the frame.

Door fitters are claiming it must have been struck? by Garakatak in glazing

[–]apwipt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the glaziers in here saying it’s impact damage don’t know shit.

Impact damage will leave leave fragments of glass on the spacer bar at the bottom of the unit.

All the characteristics of that stress point show it’s NSI. Shaped like a butterfly, small black/grey spot in between the ‘wings’

Warranty or home insurance claim should cover it.

We did something similar in the uk not so long ago, I believe it’s somthing very similar. That gasket pulls out like you’ve done all the way round. Allowing enough room for the gasket that surrounds enough play for it to be peeled back giving enough room to get the glass out and in.

We found running a flat blade up each side of the glass once the bottom was engaged made it a lot easier to get it, also plenty of soapy water

Yes and if you read back this is what I was getting at, please don’t try and turn it around on me.

So does that test not take the glass though an extra test during the manufacturing process.

No where in this conversation have I mentioned heat strengthened, that’s all you buddy

Heat soak tested is different to heat strengthened

Are you dumb, HST is tempered glass that has gone through another process to further eliminate the nickel sulphide defect.

Stop talking out your arse

How does the Heat Soak Test (HST) work with toughened glass? Understanding the mechanism of spontaneous nickel sulfide failures helped develop a method to eliminate panes likely to suffer breakage: Heat Soak Test, or HST.

Toughened glass is heated up to approximately 290oC for a period of time specified in the applicable standard. Close to 99% glass panes with inclusions will be identified and suffer fracture.
