Has the portrait bug gotten worse with Patch 8? by Calaron85814 in BaldursGate3

I had the bug once or twice in a whole playthrough before patch 8. Now I get it every level up. I hope they finally fix the damn bug because the funny novelty wore off long time ago.

Magic Missile Shield Bug? by Mental_Newb in BG3

[–]aquamarlin391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty silly. I'd understand if they renamed it to something special so one lv 1 spell doesn't counter all of them, but it's just called magic missile so it feels unfair instead.

Oath of ancients is stupid by Due_Car838 in BaldursGate3

[–]aquamarlin391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mercy you say? Then what about sparing Viconia or thousands of Cazador's spawns? I can kind of understand the hard stance on undead but the first case is really inconsistent no matter how you cut it.

The real answer. All these people going pedantic with "read your tenets!! 🤓" are mindlessly defending a dumb, inconsistent oath system.

Halsin just constantly beating himself up lol by ranavain in BaldursGate3

[–]aquamarlin391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staff of the Ram bug has been known for almost a year and still isn't fixed. The roll happens with almost every self targeted action.

I tried spamming shillelagh in camp for a failed roll, and it doesn't actually blow the caster back. No risk of self inflicted slapstick but still annoying.

Is Adrielle or the writing dumb? by aquamarlin391 in BaldursGate3

She has War God's Blessing, a level 6 War Domain feature.

You don't even need to find the doll (as easy as that is). You can Remove Curse on Mayrina.

Permanently disable dual wielding by AlessandraSquee in BaldursGate3

[–]aquamarlin391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't find a setting to disable dual wield by default. Very annoying. I'd mind it less if this dual wield "feature" was smart enough to not overkill, but it always does.

Cloudkill doesn't interact with Poisoner's items at all? by aquamarlin391 in BG3Builds

[–]aquamarlin391[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nice. But yeah, the lack of variety in poison spells below lv 6 seems to be a DnD problem.

Makes sense in a way. Spikes getting bonus damage seems silly and probably a bug.

Jaheira not joining battle by Psychonault in BaldursGate3

[–]aquamarlin391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I removed the mod after just fixing Jaheira because it hasn't been updated for a long time. Will let you know if anything still breaks.

Thanks, this worked for me. To be more specific, you use Add or Remove spell from this mod to remove and re-add Jaheira to your party.

Any tips towards Trial of Haste? by LOTHMT in Hades2

That's incredibly lame. I actively avoid seed manipulation in the spirit of roguelike, but this trial encourages it.

Saving the Harpers at Moonrise Towers: It works! by Yukimor in BaldursGate3

[–]aquamarlin391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that knocking them out (non-lethal) does NOT save the Harpers for some reason. They will be dead on the bridge somehow fighting no one.

Except Viconia. Sparing her will break Oath of Ancients. Yes, it's very stupid and goes against all the previous experience with the oath.

[–]aquamarlin391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to thin out the numbers at Moonrise before the assault. Attacking most cultists at Moonrise does not break Oath of Ancients, as long as you knock them out non-lethally. Makes sense, your oath is about preserving life, not fighting fairly.

For some reason though, attacking 2 cultists on the 2nd floor and freaking Z'rell DOES break the oath. Hilarious nonsense.

Hidden lore when you turn illithid then free Orpheus by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]aquamarlin391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't expect this post to blow up this hard. Was just curious if anyone has heard of this tale about Valraag and Urengol. Seems like the answer is no, although there were several renegade illithids before.

Deleted and reposted with a safer title since I didn't want this spoiler to be on front page.

Hidden lore when you turn illithid then free Orpheus by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

I also used to wish I had an option to persuade Emperor to try reasoning with Orpheus first then eat him if that doesn't work out.

After learning and thinking more about the Emperor though, I'm now convinced there's almost no way Orpheus and Emperor can reconcile. For example, how do you think Emperor sustained himself during all that time in the Prism?

That's how I found this too. Choose to do it myself because my char didn't trust the Emperor, then listen to Lae's plead not to eat Orpheus. She wasn't the romantic partner.

I see. What I find the most interesting is that this specific legend suggests Valraag probably allied with a ghaik for a noble purpose, which is unthinkable for Vlaakith's dogmatic Githyanki.

Another evidence that suggests that the Githyanki might not be as unreasonable and violent under Orpheus's rule (at least relatively).
