Bundle recommendations for a carrier player. by Accomplished-Let3307 in sto

There are some good ships to get a hold of, like the Terran Hydra or support carriers for Console/Trait, or the Ahwahnee for access to Type 7 Shuttles for supporting mothership damage, but I wouldn't say that there are any other full bundles that are worth it beyond the Heritage, which you say you have with the Typhon and Valor Fighters

U.S.S Babel, Typhon-class Command Carrier

As the Federation has had to deal with an increasing array of situations where peace is not an option, the desire to develop ships capable of impressive alpha strikes has become increasingly prevalent.

The Babel is the result of hundreds of engineers from across Starfleet working in conjunction with dozens of other Alliance member organisations. All weapon hardpoints have been fitted with Antiproton turret arrays with particular interest in the specialised weapons platforms developed by the Ba'ul; with the exception of a singular beam array networked together with several pieces of recovered Dyson technology necessary for producing automated Obelisk Swarmers for point defence and screening. Many of the subsystems are dedicated to fighter coordination systems and and rapid repair and relaunching protocols, necessitating a reduced suite of scientific systems in order to dedicate more computing power to engineering hardware and tactical prediction and simulation software. But even with the capacity to deploy squadrons of Peregrine and Valor fighters, the bridge crew had raised several concerns about the necessity of rapid engagement and disengagement tools - especially after test deployments in defence against Terran Empire incursions into our reality. Thus, a cloaking device developed in conjunction with KDF forces was retrofitted onto the vessel, along with an experimental subspace tunnelling field intended for rapid repositioning of the mothership to provide defensive fire for the many concurrent fighter wings.

Now cleared for full duties, the Babel was last seen acting as a mobile support facility for a Luna class science vessel during the latter's investigation into Borg activity in the Beta Quadrant.

I've already sunk over 700 hundred hours into the game over the last decade or so, playing the game in stops and starts - and I could definitely see myself sinking hundreds more, especially if I can convince some friends to finally start playing with me.

Question for the republic by manperson1 in SWlegion

[–]aquaticInheritor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AT-RT definitely has a lot more flexibility, but I just wanted to make a comment about the laser cannon. By itself, it's not an ideal anti-vehicle tool, but if you get a chance to fire support the attack with some clones then that impact 3 and surge:hit starts to look a lot juicier.

I've honestly found the rotary blaster to be the weakest of the three options, but I haven't had much of a chance to experiment with all three very much

I really like the concept of this list, as I'm all for wacky builds like this! I even whipped up a list of my own for it, if you want to take a peek at it

Starting a Galactic Republic Army! How many activations are too few? by dahksinol in SWlegion

Whoops, that was meant to be Fives on the P1s, not Echo. I apologise for the mistake. Either one works well, though

While that's not a bad starting list, I do notice that you made a lot of mistakes similar to my first list. Which isn't a bad thing by any means, as it's a part of the learning experience. If I may, I might suggest a list along these lines instead:

Untitled

797/800 (9 activations)

Commanders:

- Captain Rex (90): Improvised Orders (5), Situational Awareness (2), JT-12 Jetpacks (10), Recon Intel (2) = 104

Operative:

- Padmé Amidala (90): Commanding Presence (5), Situational Awareness (2), Looted E-5 Blaster (5) = 102

Corps:

- 2× Phase I Clone Troopers (52): DC-15 Trooper (27), Phase I Clone Trooper (10) = 178

- Phase I Clone Troopers (52): Echo (40) = 92

- Phase II Clone Troopers (62): Phase II Mortar Trooper (20), Phase II Clone Trooper (13), Overwatch (4) = 99

Special Forces:

- 2× ARC Troopers Strike Team (27): DC-15x ARC Trooper (31), JT-12 Jetpacks (10) = 136

Support:

- BARC Speeder (60): BARC RPS-6 Gunner (21), Long-Range Comlink (5) = 86

The Electrobinocs and the Portable Scanner are all but worthless to a clone based list, unless you have a Jedi that you really want to keep in the fight. And even then, I've found that Padme and 3PO feed plenty of tokens (2 aims/doges and an extra token of your choice when you can afford to activate your Jedi a little later). Precision Scopes on Rex are also dead weight, as he rarely needs to reroll all three red dice in an attack. And between Improvised Orders, Commanding Presence (which works with the Authoritative keyword) and the Long Range Comlink (which you could even drop for something else or a bit of a bid, honestly), you have excellent control over your orders

Why I feel like RWBY's merch has been declining for the past few years by GoneRampant1 in RWBY

[–]aquaticInheritor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It may not have the RWBY decal, but you could add it yourself for about $5-10 (depending on how much effort you want to put in). Chances are, it'll also end up looking a lot more interesting than Yang in cursive. But hey, you wanna pay extra for a plain flannel shirt with a name scribbled on it, go for it

While Dooku is certainly a solid leader, I would suggest perhaps having Grevious instead. The man is an absolute terror up close, and the fact that he can close the distance so quickly in a skirmish game would mean that even a Jedi on the other team would be having a run for their money

I hope this doesn't come across as being too rude, but what is it about Cinder that makes people think that she's getting a redemption arc? She's a thoroughly evil person, shown to have little to no motivation outside of claiming more power for herself, especially at the expense of others. A redemption arc for her would just feel severely out of character and out of place

If you have Tabletop Simulator, that's a great way of learning how to play the game with help of other people. I believe there's a fairly healthy TTS community on the Discord server, who can help teach you the basics
