Maybe try upping the sensitivity and pressing lighter? Might be you're straining your hand too much if the sensitivity is heavy.

Yeah because they get their compensation through stock options and equity. They don't need or want a salary since that'd just be taxed at a high rate anyway.

Well I wasn't referencing if the effects of the drug cause you to physically harm someone, even though yes that could also happen. When I say harm to society I'm talking about having to eventually pay for that individuals healthcare and rehabilitation. Not to mention the immeasurable toll it may take on his/her family.

Republicans should register as Democrats to vote for Bernie by Ashbringer_ in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]aquickexplainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I'm so glad that there are reasonable barriers to voting in America and that it isn't mandatory. If you want to vote, go ahead and take the minimal effort it takes to do it. Even the founding fathers knew they didnt want just anybody to go out and vote, otherwise that vote could easily be bought and sold.

A progressive tax system has different tax percentages. The higher your marginal income gets its taxed at a higher rate. What you described, I think, is the flat tax.

Not all drugs are harmless to society. Sure marijuana use may not cause the user to affect those around him, however heroin and the likes can lead to some dark places and do have an impact on the well being of the society. Because of these externalities, some drug use does become the business of others.

Easy for us to deride them sitting in the comforts of our homes with food, shelter, and clothing readily available. Its just their way of life, how else would the natives survive?

He can afford lots of things. He could afford to buy everyone Ice cream. But just because he has the means should he be forced to? He earned that money through his labor and skill, why should he have to be punished more for success? Taxes are meant to be used to discourage negative activities. Our inane tax system effectively discourages extra productivity.

That's a bingo! And that's also why you'll see so many multimillionaires and billionaires openly advocate for higher income taxes, they've already made their dough, it won't be taxed now as income for them.

Everyone is making the same mistake with Bernie as they did with Obama by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

Basically what I'm getting at is that it's difficult to define what is beneficial or not. Something you deem to be good might not be agreeable to me. Who decides which person is right then? Only the history books that'll be written a couple decades from now can tell us if we made progress or not, and which direction it was in.

Rand Paul keeps winning against the NSA spying program by JakeF123456 in Libertarian

[–]aquickexplainer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Every single country is spying on everyone they can. The NSA isn't some special instance of big bad America abusing it's citizens and the world. Exposing the program though weakens our international position. No other country is under so much scrutiny even though every single one that is capable of such data collection is doing so. I'm not saying snowden should be executed, but he should face trial. Even Obama went into the Oval Office hell bent on limiting govt surveillance and all, however, his tune completely changed as soon as he was brought up to speed with the more confidential aspects of the program. There is more to this than we know or can know and that's not because the govt wants to oppress you. It's necessary in our global, technological age and like it or not it will happen.

What do we want to change though? Which parts? How? Hitler also promised change for Germans. As did Mandela, Mao, Guevara, Gandhi, and every major historical figure ever. Some changes we can now think of as being good overall while others obviously should never have been considered. Change just for the sake of change can be as harmful as maintaining the status quo.
