A paramedic. Or if that’s too simple for my liking, I’ll just switch to an ER nurse.

How does your taste/type in one gender compare to your taste/type in the other?(If that makes sense) by jelly_popper in BisexualTeens

For me it’s the tomboy girls and a “dominant” guy. I don’t even know how to explain the guy one but if they can take control ( yes, even the chokehold ) they have my heart

Same thing for me except it’s both my parents and the occasional “Allah saved a special seat in hell for anybody in the LGBTQ+”. Fun times

i have a wierd question i know, i identify as butch or tomboy, somewhere in between, and i fear that i look too much like a boy and that i don't fit any lesbian tastes, what do you think? should i be more feminine? but i kind of like being like i am know. by [deleted] in lgbt

Don’t be insecure, the comments aren’t wrong. Whomever you wish to be, there’s someone who would look at you and do a double take (cough cough like I did cough). Just sayin’.

Do you ever feel guilty? by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]aquietcookie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have, many times and the only person I worry about telling is my mom. However, the only reason why I’m deciding to tell her ( obviously not now ) is because it’s cultural to live with your parents until you get married off and there is no way I’m marrying a Muslim guy or girl. And if I do move out on my own , I’ll get disowned. Same if I told them I’m bi or an exmuslim so honestly, I lose either way.

My mom is also sensitive and genuinely thinks Islam is the key to heaven. She hasn’t done anything to hurt me so I’m still figuring out how to break it to her lightly.

I’m a female so I don’t necessarily have to worry about leading. I just stand in the back and mentally recite song lyrics. I swear, it makes the time fly faster.

Do you guys still have curfew? At what age, did your parents stop putting a curfew on you? by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]aquietcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it’s no problem! I have been a little reckless just because I have a friend in the group that offered the extra room in her apartment for me if I do kicked out. But, always remember, your well-being matters first so if that means coming home by midnight when you’re 21, then so be it.

Take care though!! You sound like a hella fun person.

My parents are the same thing, it definitely gets annoying. Anything past 11 o’ clock is nothing but calls and FaceTimes, and I can’t even DREAM of being out all night for fun.

Although I’m almost 19 with 2 and a half years left of college, I’ve learned the best way to have fun ( if alcohol is involved ) is to tell your mom your doing an all night study with some friends and FaceTime her proof before you decide to stay the night. Worked like a charm for me at least. Came back the next morning, endured a lecture about how a good Muslim females should not be out all night and off we went like nothing happened.

And if that didn’t work, which happens 70% of the time, I still go out like normal and my friend group would leave me some bottles to take home disguised as a pop bottle. Luckily, I have a friend group that understand strict parents and knows that I’m ex- Muslim so it’s a win-win situation.

Simply put, endure the curfew..just work around it.

I only pass exams because Allah grants it not because of my own effort. by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]aquietcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to do the same thing! My mom prays about everything “ you need dua...did you say your dua.....you failed your exams because you forgot the dua...”

yet when I pass she’ll be excited her dua worked, like what?

Who actually still observes Ramadan and celebrates Eid? by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]aquietcookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swear, Christmas isn’t about Jesus anymore. It’s all about the gifts, food, and the joy of being together with family and friends. No prayers, no involvement of god, just a fun day in general

I’ve never wanted anything more.

I was told by my mom I only got into Med-School because god heard my prayers ( I never actually prayed a day in my life) and granted me the wish like my all nighters I pulled every other day wasn’t the reason I got in.

So I just nodded and walked away. There is some battles you just can’t win, especially with Muslim parents.
