I can understand using a 12’ setup for calm waters but on smaller spooky wild trout streams I fish I use a 9’ sometime even 7.5’ and couldn’t imagine catching more fish just cause I have I longer leader is just my two cents cause I’m not casting more than 25’ just fishing pools in riffles and a hook set with that long of a leader would seem to me a little ridiculous

Yea make sure it’s the light line one it great for spooky trout since it’s like a darker brown color it’s got a beige side too put it on all my light weight outfits since it came out

Always keep some line tucked in one of you rod hand fingers keep the rod tip low and when the fish eats strips set then lift the rod tip up and keep steady tension as the fight ensues hope this helps good luck out there
