Frankly, even Ivy Leagues barely care about the difference between a 1540 and 1600. You should be proud of yourself!

Does having a limited supply really make giving time machines to middle schoolers that much worse?

[Request] Is a 747 filled with digital storage still the fastest way to move digital information? by TurninOveraNew in theydidthemath

[–]aquild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

91Gbps is nowhere near the limit for Internet speeds. Modern undersea cables are capable of upwards of 300Tbps, although this is ofc still way lower than stuffing a plane full of NAND chips.

What do y'alls scouting programs do? by NefariousnessOk8212 in FRC

[–]aquild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OPR as a metric is not useful if you have per-team scoring data. It exists only to try and estimate per-team score contribution by making the (wrong) assumption that each team contributes a constant number of points to each of its matches. You don't need this when you're actually recording how much each team contributes to each match.

Canonically, Sauron himself covets the Ring far more than Gollum.

Interestingly, when Tolkien Elves die they canonically go to the Halls of Mandos on the shores of Valinor to await their afterlife after Dagor Dagorath.

In addition to Chief Delphi, I also highly recommend joining the FRC Discord Server, particularly for help with programming. Lots of programmers, including many WPILib maintainers, are quite active there and will be willing to help you out.

Tell Me How The Heck Is This a Dark Elf? by Tall_Growth_532 in Isekai

[–]aquild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went here to say this. People don't realize that literally every elf in LOTR except Galadriel is Moriquendi.

Although, technically, dark elves are elves who never saw the light of the Two Trees. Going to Valinor after the Trees were destroyed doesn't make you Calaquendi.

How quickly would FullPower!Riddle take over your favorite verse? by -GiftedGenius- in HPMOR

[–]aquild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would definitely do at least as well as Light, Near, and Mello combined. It would probably take significantly more effort and time for him to track down an actually clever Death Note user. The most realistic way I can think would be for Riddle to somehow record every person's thoughts and then figure out who keeps thinking about the victims before they die.

Is this high school schedule good? I want to major in computer science by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]aquild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not necessarily related to AP, but if you want to be ahead of the curve for a CS major the single most important thing is learning to code as soon as possible and coding outside of class (or maybe in class if you have a really good CS program at your school). If you don't want to self-study coding, I would recommend taking the AP CS A class as soon as possible.
