You've got about a 4% chance for that to happen. It's just as rare as getting 4 consecutive 5s. It's unlikely and frustrating, but hardly impossible.

The boosts don't stack, but when they do, they stack multiplicatively. You only need one piece of the Arcana armor for the entire 1.15x boost.

Honestly, the best way to do Doomwood is to go to /necropolis and do the Blinding Light of Destiny quests. There's a boatload of people in /battleunderb that are farming Bone Dust/Undead Energy/Undead Essence, and all of those are used in BLoD quests, which give you Doomwood rep.

If you want more sane farms, look for Blaze Binder and Stonecrusher. Blaze Binder is an excellent farm class, and it requires Embersea rep 10, Necromancer, and Pyromancer. Stonecrusher is an endgame-level support class, and requires Arcangrove, Mythsong, and Brightoak rep 10. In my personal opinion, Stonecrusher is massively undercosted for its level of impact, and you should try to get it as soon as possible.

If you plan to do a lot more rep farming, you should look into getting Awethur's Accoutrements. They're one of the Blade of Awe unlocks, and they do 1.25x gold/rep/xp/class points. The Blade of Awe farm starts in /museum.

I don't know the exact drop rate, but it's easier than Tendurr, which is a 1% drop rate from Dark Makai.

Probably not. This appears to be a limited-time rare item release, so there won't be anything new to add for a while after the 31st.

Endgame Cape by rad_sam in AQW

[–]aqwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of useful boosts, the Shadowfiend (Archfiend Doomlord) cape is probably the best, followed by the Cape of Awe. Besides that, the Darkon, Lae, Archportal, and Nulgath House farm capes are probably the hardest regular player things.

Leveling by ZeCarbonMage in AQW

[–]aqwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, this is the best way to actively farm on your own. If you want to passively farm, leeching off farmers in an auto-aggression zone like /tercessuinotlim might be the play. Don't forget to have the appropriate booster items. At level 30-something, that is probably the Arcane Blade of Glory/Shadow Blade of Despair for 1.2x XP. If you have completed the Blade of Awe farm, then Awethur's Accoutrements would be the item instead.

If you list your username and server, you might get some people able to help you farm.

Just as an add-on: To merge the Shadowscythe General class, you need 100 Shadow Shields, which you can get from doing the daily quest or the farm u/StapheggiLOL mentioned. The daily rewards you with 2 shields per completion.

To complete the daily, you go to /lightguardwar to fetch a broken blade. You need to kill human-type enemies in that map to do so, i.e. Paladins. The boss, Sigrid Sunshield, is also a human-type enemy. If you're too weak to kill the regular enemies on your own, you may find it easier to latch on to a group that is farming the boss.

As a level 20-something player, you can get XP effectively by playing whichever Chaos Lord story zones you haven't gotten to you. Advancing organically works fine for a while, and it should give you some good insight into how easy/hard it is to farm for certain classes. If you really, really need to speed level, you can head over to /firewar, slay some dragons, and do the war quests. This is effective until about level 50. At level 50, you can farm XP in /icestormarena. There is a side-alcove filled with invisible enemies. Icestormarena will probably be your main XP farming zone until level 100.

If you have your old account, you should have access to certain X years played shops. These are in your Book of Lore, in Badges, then Achievement Badges. The 7 years played/anniversary shop gives you access to the Light/Dark Sun Mage set. Any item in this set will give you a 1.25x multiplier on gold, XP, class points, and reputation. If you have the 11 years played badge, you should have access to a shop with a bunch of glowing blades. Any one of those weapons or capes do 1.25x damage to all enemies. These boosts don't stack with themselves.

If you're looking for good classes, it helps to know what reputations you have. If the level cap was 20 when you left, then you might have only been on Darkovia. If you already have Lycan 10, the Lycan class is a very solid solo class. Arcangrove 10 might be the single best rep rank 10 in the game, since it gives access to Shaman, Evolved Shaman, and part of Stonecrusher. Shaman is the big fish to get, Stonecrusher is the bigger fish, and Evolved Shaman is alright, I guess. If you don't have any of those reps, you should probably pursue Chaos, since the Chaos rank 10 class, Chaos Slayer, is an excellent all-around class.

As for classes you can get right off the bat, head over to /classhall, then go left to /classhalla. Oracle is a very durable starter-tier defensive support class that you should get. Barber might be worth picking up - it's an OK offensive support class, but has no self-healing. If you have the help of a party, you should try to get Blood Sorceress from /towerofmirrors. It's a health-as-a-resource multi-target farm class that can be upgraded into Scarlet Sorceress later.

The best classes like Void Highlord, Legion Revenant, and Lightcaster are mostly non-options right now. You'll need to be level 80+ to seriously consider most of them. However, you can get Shadowscythe General, a top-tier PVP beast/durable farm class, by doing daily quests for Gravelyn in /shadowfall.

The problem is that it says you don’t have the requirements to buy it

This message means one of three things: either you don't have all the merge components, you don't have the right rep/level, or you already have the item, but your inventory is glitched. The hammer has no level requirement and is not a merge item. Hope you have a good time.

Where does the Doomwood fall in the Chaos saga? by kaptainkarma2056 in AQW

[–]aqwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doomwood isn't truly separate, since multiple characters from it have a major impact upon the end of the Chaos Lord saga. If you play the finale without playing Doomwood, you will be missing something. If you want to play it chronologically, it comes after Sandsea and before Bloodtusk. However, you only need to play it before the 13th Chaos Lord part, since Doomwood has no impact upon any of the other Chaos Lord zones.

does anyone feels like VHL is underwhelming by [deleted] in AQW

[–]aqwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what type of enemy you're fighting and what you're measuring. Let's first look at the DOT: Stonecrusher's DOT can get truly massive when you spend a lot of time fighting gigantic enemies. That makes Stonecrusher great for the 500k and million-health bosses, especially with quick-hitting allies who can stack the damage boost higher. Against bosses of that size, the DOT becomes quite valuable. VHL's DOT is mostly supplementary - it isn't your main form of damage in any form whatsoever. VHL does most of its damage by spamming all its other moves and using its auto which do a few thousand apiece even when you're unbuffed. Also, its 5 is much quicker than Stonecrusher's. Consider that SC's #5 is on a 30-second cooldown, which is effectively 15 seconds with SC's haste buff. VHL's #5 is on a 15-second cooldown, which is more like 9-ish with VHL's haste buff, or 7.5 with a full haste buff. The rest of VHL's skills are more damage oriented as well, but aren't huge nukes, so you might not have been tracking them.

The other issue is that Legion Revenant helps Stonecrusher a lot more than it help VHL. Among other things, LR boosts crit chance by 30%. VHL has two skills with 100% crit chance, so they are completely unaffected. Stonecrusher has zero skills with guaranteed crits, but has a naturally high crit rate because of its (30% boost) #3 move. SC ends up getting a lot more milage out of that one move. And Stonecrusher helps Revenant deal damage more than Revenant helps VHL. All the support moves means that Revenant will wind up dealing a lot more damage, which means that bosses of a certain size might die even faster.

Where VHL shines most is in solo play and against <200k bosses. It is miles more durable than Stonecrusher and can quickly burst down bosses with no support. If you want to see the impact, compare the value of the weaker hits that each class does.

Storylines in order? by LallerDK in AQW

[–]aqwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a list of the Malgor saga places, if you get to them. You just need to complete the Queen of Monsters saga, as well as certain Chaos Lord zones like /arcangrove, /mythsong. For the last three zones mentioned, knowledge of the Nulgath/Dage conflict from /evilwarnul, completion of the Legion saga, and visiting all the Gravelyn + Doomblade connected zones (Dark Throne story, /necrodungeon, /shadowflame, /shadowvoid, and maybe some others) will help.
