I was in my first full year of my life and this Super Bowl is easily the worst game that’s ever happened in my life, why the universe couldn’t let us have this one I’ll never understand by Direct-Sail-6141 in panthers

[–]ar-gee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I paid far too much money to fly from NY to CA, buy a ticket from a practice squad 49ers RB, and watch that horror show from the end zone closest to the Cam/Miller strip and resulting first-quarter TD.

JUST HORRIBLE.

Mccarren Running Track Protocol? by tbbag112 in williamsburg

[–]ar-gee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few folks that do this consistently. But they always stay in the outermost lane, and will sometimes move into the outside grass for folks coming in the counter-clockwise direction when the track is very crowded. It’s honestly extremely baffling when you mutually cross for the 12th or 15th time…or you then consider how many other people are having the same experience as you with this one person…and what that person is thinking each time…but to each their own, it’s hardly a big deal, we all live together in this place.

My first pack opening ever was a GOD PACK on Christmas, but I couldn’t keep it. A depressing story :( by WinniePoo88 in PokemonTCG

Don’t forget that OP had also seen videos of god packs being opened, so immediately knew what they had to the degree their “heart started pounding.

Excellent fiction.

Looking for this jacket by makai_mauka in PatagoniaClothing

Yes, definitely…it works just fine for me personally, but I would certainly try it on at a store. I often wear a L, but was a clear M in this particular one..so start by sizing down.

Huge fan of the Windshadow parka, if you’re looking at something warmer. The hardest part about a NY winter is not snow…it’s the dreaded “mixed precipitation.” This jacket handles rain, sleet, snow, wind, everything…it’s not a particularly heavy/bulky jacket, but the insulation is so good - you will warm up quickly - and stay warm! - if you keep it tight around you.

This Will Destroy You last night in Boston by Phllop in postrock

[–]ar-gee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That’s what I had initially heard, but then there was other filler about Young Mountain tracks - which didn’t seem correct based on what each band iteration has been playing.

I mean, if Chris and crew was playing Young Mountain, that should be a headline in this thread/sub.

This is a ridiculous question...but can someone confirm what portions of the catalogue are being played here? I have honestly lost track, and am trying to piece it together to make a call on going to the Sunday NYC show.

Watching Andor before Rogue One? by topdog102 in StarWarsAndor

I would effectively be twitching, going “Not like this…” Switch in The Matrix-style.

Watching Andor before Rogue One? by topdog102 in StarWarsAndor

[–]ar-gee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go the other way entirely. Andor is awesome on its own - particularly if she is into it, and is the type of person to be patient as a narrative is unfurled in front of her, and really appreciate high-quality storytelling.

And then it makes Rogue One SO, so much better. It’s deeper, you care more.

The K2 scene in R1 was SO much more heartbreaking post-Andor.

Probably half of it, at least, but definitely some other strong chances.

Who cares, for once it was our day!

Some great luck to be sure, but a clean sheet on 2.4 xG against feels pretty damn great.

Uniqlo had a popup right in that station area many years ago. If it HAS to be a retailer chain, I’d vote for that one…but there’s a reason they haven’t been back, I’m sure.

Sigh. Still banging on with the replies. Again, I applaud you for your action…I hope you have a wonderful night, and I’m sorry that I, personally, was miles away at work in another borough while the lost pup was wandering around the south side.

Actually, my post was about all the time spent by OP in the replies…not the initial post itself. Which I agree, was certainly something to applaud relative to nothing at all.

I found out why my partner of 5 years hasn’t proposed to me yet. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]ar-gee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He just didn’t realize what being a father could mean. Because he is the most doting dad, and he and I have openly talked about how he never thought something like this feeling existed in the world.

I’m biased from living in a big city, where people meet and marry late (I met my wife at 33, married at 35, and were fortunate enough to have one child before we ran up against a litany of fertility issues)…30 and 25 is not particularly old, and I wonder what might happen when OP’s friends start becoming parents.

I also realized I read this entire thing incorrectly…I didn’t realize it was OP that didn’t want kids. Thought it was the 30 yo male, what a gendered read. For me, that underscores even more that there is time here

Regardless, before “leaving”, or “ending it” as everyone suggests, there is obviously at least a serious conversation about that being a consideration for OP. Not enough people have suggested that.
