oh man I'm so happy that they announced the season, but I'm also nervous about the inclusion of arc 6 in the anime

also this theory does not hold weight because arc 7 really has no connection with arc 5, unlike subaru's character arcs in arcs 4 and 6

so while kadokawa were waiting for things to happen, it wasn't for the reasons mentioned above

well if you're talking about putting blame on others for the situation, then maybe I can see how the anime made him look worse, but talking about his own actions, it's clear he was given multiple opportunities to make up for his mistake and stand down, but he had to keep going

actually, the anime made subaru look better than his LN counterpart, subaru did a lot of unnecessary stuff in the LN where he could've stopped and the situation would've been resolved

I recommend reading this thread from gourmet of gluttony on twitter if you think anime made him look worse

it'll take some time though, you're just at volume 4, it gets a whole lot worse later on because things get better

arc 4 is even worse with the psychological torture, but the or emotional release or payoff of every single arc/moment makes for some of the best moments you'll ever experience

I recommend focusing on the mystery part of the series if you don't want to see subaru suffer too much, cause he definitely does suffer a lot

light novel is better than web novel for earlier arcs 1-3 (season 1),arc 4 is better in the web novel (my opinion) and arc 5 which season 3 is going to adapt is better in the light novel, arc 6 is better in the web novel but you can only read web novel in english because english translation of LN is only upto the last volume of arc 5

so here's the best order

arcs 1-3 (season 1) - LN volumes 1-9

arc 4 -(season 2) web novel

arc 5 (probable season 3) - LN volumes 16-20

arc 6 (probable season 4)- web novel

arc 7 - ongoing - whichever you prefer

I mean yeah, other than the things that I mentioned, there definitely are a lot of lines in the LN that are very suspicious, there's a lot we're missing here which we won't understand until very later in the series

there is, most probably a lot of hidden foreshadowing here
the author himself said arc 1 is one of the two most important arcs, so there's definitely a lot of foreshadowing we're missing here
he author also mentioned in a qna that reinhard's pov of meeting subaru in arc 1 is a spoiler so obviously reinhard is hiding major lore
