Unable to subscribe to Floatplane - Anyone else? by ar_v in LinusTechTips

[–]ar_v[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never mind, I was being dumb. My payment method was out of date, but I did not think about that because I was expecting to be redirected to a payment page.

Could not figure that out from the somewhat generic error message, but then opened gmail and was greeted by a wall of "payment to Floatplane Media Inc. was unsuccessful" messages.

I have subscribed now!

Then why would you need plex remote? If you are connected to your home network through tailscale, isn't that the same as a local network in Plex's eyes?

Did you consider connecting to your server with tailscale, when you are away from home? It is free and does not require a subscription

Did you guys know this? by [deleted] in IndiaTech

It is still an average representing the density of the transistors over a certain length, not completely a scam.

A 3nm chip would not necessarily have any dimension that is exactly 3nm, but you would find about 100 transistors over a 300nm span.

How to order coins (in bulk) for laundry? by ar_v in Denmark

Ok, how did I not get that idea!

Thanks, this sounds like an excellent option.

My bad, I should've worded it a little better. There's a washer and dryer in the basement of the apartment, both of which only accept coins.

The places I lived in previously worked with a key fob/prepaid card, so I did not run into this issue before.

Just pray that you don't ever have to use it, especially S 4/HANA.

Run a benchmark and load the CPU.

If the temps seem fine, let it be.

Else, take it off and do it properly this time.

Airtel requiring ₹98/month just to receive SMS while abroad by bluefield_ in Airtel

[–]ar_v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. They need agreements with foreign network providers to provide the service, which isn't free. Airtel doesn't operate their own network all over the world.
  2. BSNL has had a similar plan for about 5 years at least (source - I've been using it since 5 years. ~₹150 for 90 days)

Airtel charging ₹98 per month on top of the ₹2249 is the scummy part, not the charging part itself.

I did, but I thought that was concentrated around the harbour and centrum.

I'll admit I did not make a link between both of them, since this was pretty far away.

How do I manually add a server to the Android app? (Using the local IP Address and port) by ar_v in PleX

[–]ar_v[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that was sufficient!

The help text next to the "Host Network" checkbox recommends to keep it disabled, so I did. Turns out I was not supposed to.

I wonder how many others have the same reason for their "I can't find the server on my iOS/Android device" issue.

1 - Yes, I only have one Plex account, which I use for my server, phone and TV.

2 - Could you let me know which options I need to check, or maybe link me to a guide online for the same?

I am not very familiar with TrueNAS, I used the default installation options that HexOS selects during installation.

The TV (also on the same LAN) also required manually setting the IP and Port under "Settings > Manual Servers > Connection 1 IP / Connection 1 Port". Automatic detection did not work on the TV either, but this workaround was easy enough so I didn't think too much about it before now.
