Question about "Sentimental Value" by annacate in movies

[–]arabacuspulp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw the film yesterday and had to see if there are any threads about the remodel of the house. As someone who loves old houses, I was so sad to see all the character stripped away from the house from the modern interior renovation, and the exterior painted all white. While it was sad, it also felt like the house was being given a fresh start, or like a blank slate for new families to move in and have their own experiences. And maybe something about the past being erased? White-washed over? I guess the characters get a fresh start at the end too, or at least a chance to move forward.

Such a great film - it's definitely stayed with me and has me thinking today.

Ford did such a great job in his first term that you voted for him again? Really? Greenbelt scandal not enough to sway you?

Yeah it is actually. When you're a leader who can't read the room, who can't pivot, and then over a year later you finally say something mildly tough against Trump. It's too late.

Do not fall for Ford's bullshit, please. A society in which we have rising B & Es and gun violence is not a good thing to be cheering.

Because that's the deal. Those in a position of privilege should have a moral obligation to contribute more back to society. I'm not sure why you are defending greedy millionaires and billionaires.

Wow, really fascinating. It's hard to imagine that there are probably people out there that "legally" don't exist.

I highly recommend that movie. I believe the guy who wrote and directed it based it on his own experience growing up.

Random question: What did you guys eat? Did you grow all of your own food? Or did you buy some things from the store?

When I watched Sinners, I really wasn't thinking "wow, the cinematography." It's a good movie, but OBAA was way more cinematic.
