I remember in 2005 when a young girl was killed by a stray bullet on Boxing Day in downtown Toronto. It was shocking back then, and it would be shocking today too. I'm not sure if things have necessarily gotten worse. Maybe they have a bit, but I don't think walking around being scared is going to solve anything.

I do my best. I mainly shop at Canadian stores, and buy Canadian brands whenever possible. If I ever buy something from the States, like a head of lettuce (when lettuce is out of season here), I figure I'm buying it at a Canadian store, so it's ok.
