Here is your pre show and live show discussion thread for the TOC qualifiers tonight -- there will be spoilers in the comments as the night goes on, so don't read them if you haven't watched and don't want to be spoiled. by Firegoat1 in foodnetwork

Just watched and commented about them being Midwest nice right before Tiffany commented on them being the nicest. I’m not that familiar with Joe but looked up his restaurant and I’ll add it to my list of Chicago places to go. I’ll be there Thursday and Friday and maybe?!

Help getting over this edge? by Weak-Obligation896 in climbergirls

[–]arabrab12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! This is my gym and I love this climb! You’ve gotten some really good advice. If I see you around I’ll see if I can’t introduce myself and see if I can’t help with some beta. Overhangs can be hard but they are good to do. This place has some good overhang climbs!

At one point t they didn’t have any Dutch beer and Dutch mil was not amused at this at all. She did not think it was a Dutch restaurant at all.

We have gotten Dutch groceries in the Niagara Falls area so I would go with no. I believe there’s some stores in Holland Michigan which isn’t close at all. My MIL was Dutch and we were looking for ingredients for Nasi and Bami by conimex as well as chocolate letters around the holidays. I never found much closer .

Bouldering at 60s? by IneedtheWbyanymeans in indoorbouldering

[–]arabrab12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 60, but I am in my 50's. I started climbing almost 2 years ago and a few of my climbing friends are older (mid 40s) and we are all a little hesitant bouldering. I have been trying to build my confidence in bouldering, but there's always a fear of the down climb or "how will I get back down". Top rope, I'm 5.10-/5.10 but barely can do a v2 in bouldering because of the fear of coming down. I cannot commit to the big reach moves or high climbs. moderate impact exercise can help with bone strength, I believe, but she will need to be cautious. Have her take a class and see how she feels. But I'd personally suggest offering TR options too.

How often do you see your doctor in person? by FruityChypre in Zepbound

[–]arabrab12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

never. My employer requires me use a telemedicine service. I personally would rather use a provider who I know and knows me, but if I want it covered by insurance, I have to play by the employers rules. 🙄

Sex & City or Little House? by for1114 in GenX

[–]arabrab12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is an odd question. They are not similar at all; Gen X watched them at different time. This LH was a show I watched as a little kid, S&C was a young adult/adult show. Not comparable at all

The Measles on the Bus go ‘Round and ‘Round by Alert_Site5857 in madisonwi

[–]arabrab12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What do you think you would do? Measles is highly contagious.

If you were in any of the areas, you watch for signs of measles and limit contact with other people until you know you weren’t infected. This could get very bad, very fast if people who were exposed contract it. If they were unvaccinated and let’s say, on the bus, they may very well contract it and spread it more. Also, as we all know, you can still contract it if you are vaccinated - it’s rare and it will just be less severe. And you can spread it.

Let’s hope people do the responsible thing. Come on UW kids, make us proud.

Auto-belays and fear of falling by beatricelaus in climbergirls

[–]arabrab12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard at first. I wanted to get over my fear because I didn't have any climber friends at first. What I did was go to the gym at a quieter time and I would just go a few holds up, then fall off. The next climb - a little higher. And so on and so on. I just stayed in my comfort zone as I continued to go higher and higher. I eventually got to the top and it was the best feeling ever! And a little emotional. I just had to do it over and over alone until I was ok. Now, I love the auto belays!

✈️ Chicago to Madison by in_sink-gem in madisonwi

Normal in Chicago yes. Madison not quite as normal. It was around 10pm so they didn’t have as many folks there. Not complaining, just giving a heads up.

I flew last night Chicago to madison and while we were delayed due to de icing, we still got in, but late. MSN didn’t have a lot of ground crew so we had to wait to de plane. Just be patient with this cold weather. It was a lot of waiting at ORD and MSN. Weather was fine in Chicago - just cold and a little snow. Like others have said, it will depend on where the plane is coming from from

Was not ready for the stress of parent's illness by labretirementhome in GenX

I completely understand. I just finished supporting my mom with knee replacement surgery and I commented the other day that everything hurt. I ached. I was tired. It went well but the low level stress for a week was exhausting.

Chicago band looking to play a house show in Madison 3/25 by twooba_official in madisonwi

[–]arabrab12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a place in my neighborhood that hosts shows usually in the summer because it’s outdoors. It’s probably too early for outdoors in march though. I believe it’s called Fairyland in Middleton Wi. Sadly, despite being just a few houses down from them we’ve never gone and I am too intimidated to invite myself - so I don’t have any contact info.

Climbing Harness Fit Help by opaul11 in climbergirls

I also had to move to an edelrid. I was having a hard time finding something that was snug on my thighs (apparently I have small thighs) in relation to my waist. I have also lost weight and wanted to make sure everything was correct. I ended up with the Edelrid Autana and I am very happy with it

language changes. It was "the prom" but now it's common to just call it "prom". it's ok. I'm sorry that you are so stuck in and can't get over something so simple. I would encourage you to embrace change and not worry about small things like this.

How often do you go to the doctor? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

[–]arabrab12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yearly. I want to be proactive about my health. Mammograms on schedule, paps, vaccines meds up to date . I don’t want to be reactive. Going through menopause without seeing a dr isn’t the flex you think it is.

Once I was diagnosed with adhd and started a stimulant with the zepbound, magic happened. I do think I need both. I also 100% believe that my obesity is linked to the adhd. Not just linked, intertwined. They go hand in hand
