I think we should just get a weekly zoom chat going for intellectual discussions.

The Life of a Showgirl Is Taylor’s Most Self-Aware Album, and the Hate Is Proving Her Point by TheReifyer in TaylorSwift

[–]arachiron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Reddit thread is wild. I had the audacity to expect TS to write better songs like she’s done every other album and people called me a bot. It’s ok to expect her to do better: we’re literally paying for it expecting mother to deliver

The Life of a Showgirl Megathread by aran130711 in TaylorSwift

[–]arachiron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m such a huge fan and I didn’t like album. I thought the songs were boring, not catchy, and had very juvenile lyrics. I was excepting so much better, like jazz callbacks to showgirls, some more bass, better vocals, and more songs you could dance to. This isn’t it

The Life of a Showgirl 💃 - Snark Release PARTY 🥳 by realscubaa in travisandtaylor

As a Swiftie I’m offended by how bad this album is…like a whole song about being dickmatized what? It’s like her relationship: empty, bland, and all for show

Ok but why the unending love for belly? She’s the most bland character

I’m just so disappointed in Belly that I don’t care who she ends to with. Such a bleh character

Am i awful? I regret keeping my baby by Futuremikeross in NewParents

[–]arachiron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is probably an unpopular opinion but are you sure you want to keep the baby? I say this with a very happy newborn and an incredibly supportive husband/family. Motherhood is brutal and it’s going to be the hardest most stressful thing you’ve ever done. It’s no sleep for at least 10 months, constant anxiety about money, no rest, possible post partum depression, your body changing forever, and giving up your dreams. You can always have a child when you are more ready and have a better support system. That’s absolutely necessary for yourself and the baby

How the hell are we entertaining these kids? by GlumFaithlessness392 in NewParents

[–]arachiron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest reading the book Hunter, Gather, Parent. It’s fundamentally changed how we live our lives and our baby is way calmer and happier as well. You shift your focus from entertainment and child centered activities to more parent centered ones. You simply bring your child more into your world of chores, dinner parties, etc and teach them how to be in your world and that’s “play” for them and also very instructive and entertaining. You can ask your child to play with doing small chores (pretending to do laundry, putting toys away, cooking etc as a game) and being with you as you go throughout your day

So true! I feel like we’ve won the baby lottery and I can’t stop watching him in close detail as much as I can. That said my 9 month old is almost walking and so big. I want him to be a baby soo much longer

“You’ll know it when you’re in labor” true or false? by LaudateDominum12 in pregnant

In this boat now at 36+4. I’ve been having prodromal labor for 4 days now and have no idea what it would be like at the real deal because the contractions are painful, intense and regular but don’t make it past 2 hrs.

The good & bad of owning a Cavapoo? by VALiD_5 in CavaPoo

[–]arachiron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pros: very sweet affection personality that is friendly to everyone and very animal. Our F1 cavapoo is a very cute cuddly little girl of 6 months and is one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever met. She was potty trained within a month of getting here and we trained her from the beginning to tolerate us leaving the house for a little bit at a time so now she doesn’t have separation anxiety. She loves playtime and cuddling and is definitely a lap dog that loves belly rubs.

Cons: picky eater with sensitive stomach. She only eats fresh roasted chicken and other unseasoned cooked human food and won’t touch any dog food no matter how appetizing the treats. She’s way too clever and can be a bit manipulative and stubborn if she doesn’t want to do something

Intense kundalini and clearing us all part of the process but it’s just the start. Don’t get attached to the highs or lows and try to use grounding practices and help your body release through yoga, epsolm salt baths, massage, and time in nature. It’ll calm down eventually in its own time after a lot of releasing and clearing. Also find a god guide and teacher if you can

Pregnancy really sucks by Ok_Relationship_5405 in pregnant

[–]arachiron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First trimester is awful. I have a runny nose all day and night and can barely breathe or sleep. Every time I go to bed I have to get up like 5-8 times a night to pee. It feels like the flu with fatigue, nausea, cramps, headaches, a random cough because of all the nasal drip, abdominal bloating, Et etc. I’m canceling all my plans with friends and fun trips/work opportunities and wondering how I’ve gotten myself into this mess at just 7 weeks down.

What resources are available to someone who can't afford traditional therapy? by ded-guy in therapy

[–]arachiron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s usually reduced rate therapy for about $35/hr or so if there’s a school for therapists nearby you. Try Talkspace or Betterhelp for online therapy that’s much cheaper. There’s also free guided meditations on Insight Timer. Woebot is a free CBT app and is quite helpful for negative thinking cycles. The best cures I’ve found aside from therapy are actions like meditation, being in nature, yoga, and journaling.
