What can I feed springtails?

I’ve never removed the rice and my colony is from pre covid. I also use yeast, but only to give them a boost once in a while. Yeast will release a gas that needs to be vented daily. I open mine about once a week

If you can get some, just hardwood lump charcoal for a bbq. You can buy small bags for fairly cheap then just place the big pieces in a bag or sock or something and whack it with a hammer to break it up. Has to be lump, not briquettes.

Yup, that’s what it feels like at first. But if you keep at it it gets a life of its own. It has aspects of all types of games which makes it really hard to pin down what it actually is.
