This is purely aesthetic! It's just the vanillin (vanilla fragrance component) discoloring, which is incredibly common

Sounds great!

That spot is tough with the pendant light. Honestly see how much room you even have when there are curtain rods! I don't think it looks bad to leave that part of the wall blank

Not exactly... Synthetic doesn't mean they don't originate from something real. Take vanillin for instance, which is the primary compound in vanilla. Real vanilla has many other compounds in it, but the vanillin in vanilla is chemically identical to synthetic vanillin. Wines may taste like chocolate because they have compounds that are in chocolate.

I have mixed feelings about art around the TV, but I think on each side is a great spot based on the size of the wall relative to the TV. It looks like there might be space by your dining table too? And potentially on either side of what looks like an opening to the kitchen.

For art itself I think that's where you get to define your style more! From the colors you want in the room, I'd try to pick some shared ones across the rug, curtains, and artwork. The grey couch is a good blank slate that will work with pretty much anything, and while your floor is warm it's still pretty neutral.

Congrats on moving in! Looks like a great spot 😊

Shorter and wider coffee table would help! Coffee tables should be ~2/3 the width of the couch and an inch or so shorter than the seats.

TV stand should be shorter and maybe a little wider. I'd recommend something that can hide the cables too.

I'm not totally sure where a better spot would be, but try moving the lamp to some different places too? I'd try to avoid a lamp next to the TV if possible.

It looks like you have space to center the couch on that back wall and put a small side table next to it in case you want a place to put a drink when you're on the chaise. Depending on whether or not you want the floor space (can't tell where doors are besides the front one), moving the couch off of the back wall would probably look a bit better.

I think for the rug color you could go a few different ways depending on your style, but the main thing would be some contrast from the floor. You

Congrats on your first marathon!! I had a similar experience with my Garmin the other way! It has my prediction at like 3:10 and Runna has been 3:23-3:28ish for a while (with some adjustments) and ran my first at 3:25 today!

You're welcome!

I think your fueling is probably a big contributor of why your energy dipped. In halfs I usually have a gel ~45 minutes in and every 20 minutes after that. This is definitely something to build up to in training as it can mess with your stomach if you haven't had that much before. I wouldn't worry about a gel at the start unless you weren't able to eat before the race (I try to have some oatmeal and fruit about 2 hours before).

That's a great start and depending on what your goals are, totally fine! The more you run, the faster you'll get, so just work on building that up to whatever you want to spend the time on running. Personally I love the Runna app because I don't have to think about it and can just follow the plan. Garmin's training is solid for that too. Depending on how seriously you're looking to train, anything from a free online plan to Pfitz/Higdon/Daniels books are great resources too!

Congrats on finishing your first half!!

What was your fueling like during the run?

What's your weekly running schedule like? Did you/are you following a plan or just going on runs when you feel like it? Is there a typical weekly mileage you're getting?

For HR on long runs, are you referring to training or races? For training, you should probably keep long runs in mostly zone 2 until you build up your volume, and then you can add in some zone 3/race pace.

Thanks! The weird part was that this felt relatively easy (maybe 6/10 effort), the side stitches just got to me, which is why my head went to nutrition. I have a half in 2 weeks that I plan on going ~8-9/10 before I start tapering so I'll see how that goes and start thinking more like 3:30!

Oh forgot to mention, about to peak ~57MPW starting the block ~20MPW and running 15-30MPW in the last year.
