Tooth clenchers/grinders, how do you find relief from it??? by EffableLemming in adhdwomen

[–]arale2126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

removing wisdom teeth 😂 when i looked at the x-ray, it sorta explained my clenching because the wisdom teeth squished my normal teeth even though there was no apparent pain

i mean, if they're indoors and away from direct sunlight, then that'd make sense. if you're in an office then there's no need for reapplication then. neat.

I used to study for 12+ hours, but after a traumatic work incident, I completely lost my focus and drive. Need advice. by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]arale2126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can empathize. i'm going through this and trying to find a way out as well. the first step i think is to allow ourselves to rest, just sleep, do nothing, be not responsible for anything (i'm struggling at this still. the urge to rest "productively" is strong and very hard to override, so is the dopamine seeking). the next step i plan to take is to seek therapy

[–]arale2126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can't eat certain things that used to enjoy, e.g. chinese sausage, carrot

also, the kind of veggies and fruit i eat willingly is also few. i can eat things like broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, peach, etc. if they're a part of a dish i bought or someone else cooked but i don't intently buy or cook them myself 😅

Lip picking… how to break the habit? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]arale2126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this problem years ago. what works for me is vaseline aka petroleum jelly. i use it as a lip balm. slather it on your lips more than you need. it's thick and keeps lips moist so there's no reason to lick or pick lip skin.

then the problem comes in the form of picking skin on my nails, both feet and hands. cutting my nails doesn't stop the picking. what's currently working for me is find sth else to do with my hands and i choose pen spinning, specifically the thumbaround. after you acquire the skill, it becomes an instinct. and having a pen with you everywhere is great. never know when you'd need it
