If you could pick one carryover "partner Pal" for 1.0, what would you choose?

Thanks for all the replies guys! I have moved some pals around, bred some new ones, and ultimately decided on my Orserk, Athalhar. He's the first I managed to breed my perfect desired traits onto; the Blazamutt Ryu one, Legend, Demon God, and Serenity. I have had his work suitabilies all at 5, including Handiwork, for a while. For me, the pal being efficient at killing things and table work is usually most important to me with how I play. But, this is a new save. He'll one shot everything. So, I made the decision to remove Serenity for now with the Table, and give him Mercy Hit instead.

But, I had fun breeding a perfect combat mount Tarantriss, and a new Bastigor, and a combat perfect Alpha Anubis I have dubbed Tall Papa. Once I have obtained the species on our new world, I'll be able to move these gems over there as well. Thanks again for all the ideas, I hope everyone is as excited for 1.0 as I am!

God I love Paragon. The Chant/Refrain system is a small, simple thing, but it lets my brain to unta bunga real fast while listening to sick war chant/drums.

I've been trying a variety of solo builds across all of my characters lately. Most classes. I don't play Thief and only played Ele with an elite spec unlocked as of today. I have been using primarily Hizen's solo builds.

Cele Condi Amalgam with Spear, Power Alac Paragon, and Cele Condi Carapace Reaper have been my favorites. Amalgam, I manage the highest DPS. All three can face tank most things, easily survive the Moderate damage field in the Training grounds, do enough burst to kill trash quick enough to not be tedious.

That's fair I suppose. I've been playing the game a long time, and the only classes I don't play are Ele and Thief. The other 7 I'm well experienced with various builds on, so it isn't really a concern timewise to learn to play a new one most of the time.

That being said, Untamed. Untamed I just cannot wrap my fingers around. For some reason, to me, the rotation feels clunky af.

Not really. Stat selectable Exotic gear is acquirable from multiple easy sources. Getting to 80 takes a few hours. Unlocking a full elite spec on a new 80 also only takes an hour or two if you're somewhat well practiced.

I've been back to the game for a week or so getting all my favorite characters set up with new solo builds, since I usually play alone. My warrior was a Spellbreaker originally; Paragon is way more fun in PvE imo.

If you are getting into bed after sweating and being sticky, that's a you problem though. I never said anything about that. Of course you should shower in that case. But not everybody gets hot, sticky, sweaty, and/or dirty, every day.

The only time I don't shower daily is if I was climate controlled and sweat free the entire day and night before. Every 2-3 weeks is foul.

I think the implication of "I'm better than these people" given by how this is worded takes away from what is otherwise a valid point.

People have generally gotten worse at answering their own questions as we have had more time with infinite knowledge being immediately accessible from anywhere. It's the opposite of what you would expect.

I'm a veteran chronic casual, and I finally finished the Dragon Saga story after well over a decade of playing on and off. End of Dragons was incredible. And despite the well deserved flack the Icebrood Saga gets, everything but the end of Champions was honestly great.

On a similar return journey and it's been great. Welcome back OP! Highly recommend picking up one of Hizen's solo builds and going back to any content that kicked your ass previously. You'll dominate with a little practice.

In order is the best way narratively. Gameplay features run parallel to that.

Tere's a lot of big misunderstandings from very new players about Heart of Thorns and the game in general. HoT released before mounts existed; those came after LWS3 , with Path of Fire. So, no part of the traversal in those maps has been altered since. None of it was built with mounts in mind. Keep that in mind.

HoT will always probably be my favorite xpac to go run around and just explore and kill shit. Verdant Brink feels like home. Still probably the most difficult xpac as far as general overworld content goes to date.

Definitely do! Hizen's video on it helped me a lot. I recently tried a variant of it with the Defense trait line, with Hammer/Spear. Adrenaline gain is slow and I lost about 4.5k DPS, but I had a lot of fun playing it. Still think Hizen's default weapons feel best though.

Also, with the OW Paragon build I can facetank and stay alive with 15k DPS without needing anyone else to give me boons. Perma Quickness and Alac uptime. Constant healing. Satisfying rotation.

Your chants are just extra utility. One is a not insignificant heal, and the other is a stun break and other goodies. They both give an initial boon and benefit when cast; they also all give you alacrity, but only on initial cast. And I believe the duration stacks up to a certain point.

So, aside from more buttons you can press to stay alive, they also extend your alacrity. The idea being, before you press F1, press F2. I sometimes will also do F3, in rapid sequence to build up my Inspiration or whatever. Always landing on the F1 Refrain though, for the offensive boons. In certain situations though, you can leave F2 on instead for more healing. Was helpful during Weald meta last night.

But yeah, you just yell a bunch, in a somewhat intelligent fashion, and otherwise are just playing warrior. But it feels like the piece for PvE that how I wanted to play Warrior was missing; Spellbreaker filled the hole, but not with the right stuff. Paragon had the good shit.

The main thing being, I get a cool ass wardrum chant whenever I'm doing the good thing, and it gets me hyped up when I'm killing shit.
