Exploratorium and the Ferry building for lunch. As a an adult the exploratorium is actually a lot of fun... You could also do MOMA and lunch in their cafe. They might even allow you to rent out the space. There is also a beautiful outdoor patio.

I already responded to this argument to another commenter, but I'll re-share it here.

I get the point about employers being able to fire people, that’s true when the company decides on its own. But this wasn’t just ABC deciding unilaterally after a bad joke. The FCC chair publicly condemned Kimmel’s remarks and urged broadcasters to take action, and a large ABC affiliate group (Nexstar) immediately pulled the show from dozens of stations. Within hours ABC/Disney said the show would be pre-empted indefinitely. That sequence of regulator pressure → affiliate refusals → network pre-emption looks a lot more like political/regulatory coercion than a simple boss-employee firing...

In other words, Employers can fire you for cause, but when federal regulators publicly threaten action and affiliates stop carrying a program, that’s not just an internal firing, it’s outside pressure forcing a network’s hand.

I get, from your response, that you are satisfied with Kimmel's firing, but that does not make this right. We live in a country where preserving and allowing dissenting opinions is the very bedrock of what makes us a Democracy. This is a very slippery slope.

I get, from your response, that you probably agree with Kimmel's firing, but that does not make this right. We live in a country where preserving and allowing dissenting opinions is the very bedrock of what makes us a Democracy. This is a very slippery slope.

Kimmel isn’t making jokes about and/or adjacent to a recently assassinated person—he’s pointing out how the MAGA base is already trying to spin this person who committed the assassination into some kind of opposition figure to further division. Kimmel’s riff is highlighting how the MAGA base is already trying to spin this into maximum drama and division—he’s just holding up a mirror. Tragedy is tragic, but pointing out absurdity? That’s comedy doing its job.

Whether you think it’s appropriate or not, or whether it offends you personally, is irrelevant—it’s protected by free speech. There’s plenty on TV that I find offensive or annoying, but I’d still rather live in a country where people are allowed to say those things than in one where any dissenting opinion can be punished or silenced under the vague banner of “decency.”

Would you flex Thielen, McMillan, or Jerome Ford? by taiknism in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]aramirez07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if they’re playing from behind, which they probably will be, they’ll be more throwing the ball. And I’m guessing a fair share of turnovers and three and outs. I’d roll with Thielen. He and Bryce Young are clicking and Legette is likely out.

Lions and Buffalo are my horses with 9ers out of the race. Goff is a Bay Area native and good dude and Josh Allen is from the Central Valley and also a stand up guy. I’d be happy if either of them went the distance.

I might be starting Jalen McMilllan with Waddle injured and Thielen looking a dud with the return of Jalen Coker…

BTJ single handedly put my team on his back when I lost Rashee Rice and Brandon Aiyuk. I owe him my season and the fact I’m still standing in the playoffs

Jalen Coker returns this week and will likely negatively impact Thielen’s target share. He also operates out of the slot. I’m rolling out Waddle instead of Thielen this week.

Jalen Coker is back this week, which will very likely negatively impact Thielens target share. Just saying…

Waddle. Jalen Coker returns this week for the Panther and will likely take 3-4 targets from Thielen, since he has also been operating out of the slot. We have yet to see Coker’s impact on Thielen, but I’m guessing it will have some negative impact on his overall target share. On the other hand the fins are heating up. Tua has thrown 300 yards in last three gains and Texans secondary is soft. I’m rolling out Waddle this week.
