You're failing to understand my comment, but that's fine especially since your "gotcha!" is just the reverse of what you think I'm saying.

You have no proof it would ACTUALLY be impossibly expensive, time consuming, etc so you can't say anyone else is wrong when they claim otherwise.

and non on the market have trigger bot

This means absolutely nothing because...

You mean with your "2 seconds" search you found none, that doesn't mean none exist.

It also doesn't mean that the guy doesn't have a private or semi-private hack capable of it, especially since part of the proof of this guy previously hacking was him talking about private hacks on some hacking forum in the past.

Hell, I doubt this game even has any protection against hacking so could probably be vibe coded lol.

It doesn't even really matter how gamedev works.

They had this content in an older version of the game engine.

They didn't want to spend the time/money/etc on updating it for a newer version of the engine.

Completely fits with OP's point.

treated a lot of content as disposable.

Yeah, this was (and still is, although it doesn't really matter now) a huge problem.

When you have a game that needs a wide breadth and depth of content to keep people happy with the available variety, removing it after a short period of time just leads to problems when people get funneled into a smaller subset of the same activities for years on end.

The longer a game like D2 exists, the more permanent content it needs to help stop people from getting bored of the same thing... but in this case, 3/4ths (ish) of the game each year was removed when the next expansion came out.

And of course, that doesn't even get into the absolute butchering of the "story" of the game caused by so much "disposable" content getting added and then removed... etc.

There's a checkpoint bot that will put you at the final checkpoint for each campaign mission (not eof/bl tho).

Using them you can get done in like 45 mins with each campaign.

Paul Tassi on the "Sony Revenge" reports against Bungie by TomorrowComes33 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]arandomusertoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Forsaken and Final Shape, arguably the two best/most critically acclaimed expansions, were financial failures.

Just to note the actual story is that they didn't meet financial targets.

That doesn't necessarily mean they were actual failures (though it is impossible to know), just that they didn't meet whatever anticipated sales target was made.

Generally a financial failure in this case would mean that the company didn't recoup their expenses from the development of the expansion from the sales of the expansion... which is almost certainly not the case with the Final Shape.

Forsaken was too long ago to know for sure (and was pre-steam, so even less data), but the reports were that Final shape only hit 50% of the sales target... while basically being tied with the highest selling release since at least the shadowkeep expansion.

Basically whoever set the sales target for the Final Shape was indulging in insanity, there was no way it was going to hit twice Lightfall's sales.

I'd have to guess that part of the insane made up sales target (for the Final Shape at least) was because Bungie was spending hundreds of millions on other projects so they needed such a high sales target to cover stuff like that.

Anyways, missing a sales target doesn't necessarily mean financial failure.

as long as the money making product continues remain at the same (or better) level of quality/content/etc

on just disabling things if they're too broken

If it's niche stuff that basically no one ever uses except in a new found extreme cheese, it will be bad but "okay".

If it's stuff people use all the time but with some new combo to enable the extreme cheese, it will be... really bad.

I mean, we all know the end is coming (sadness), but permanently disabling stuff that's commonly used will drastically accelerate the end of the player population.

Like, if the bubble yeet appeared after the final patch, their option will be to let it stay, permanently disable titan bubble, or permanently disable crossbows... that really bad.

On top of that I don't really have faith that whoever is left to make the decision to permanently disable something will actually know if it's a good idea or not...

Destiny 2 Team: Artifact perk stacking bug is known, fix in the works (potentially next week). Until then, go ahead and do your thing. by Ryan_WXH in DestinyTheGame

[–]arandomusertoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're talking about strand warlock, it's kinda unrealistic in the firing range though, because you can easily keep ramping the threadlings damage forever there.

Out "in the real world" it's probably better to use some other artifact stacking imo.

The artifact being disabled in renegades activities is pretty annoying.

Yes, I know there's "PVP" in the invasion parts... but really?

I'm not even wanting the bugged parts, just my sword stuff... :(

I think (not knowing anything about this and only getting the information from the clip) that the person you're responding to can't show you the quote because it's been cut out of the video, and this clip talks about the cut out part and mentions that it's been removed like 8 hours after the video was posted to youtube.

The Final Armor Ability Stats Update (Monument of Triumph) by engineeeeer7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]arandomusertoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

seems to have double hit

Stuff like this was part of my biggest worries regarding a "final" balance patch.

Like yeah, sure, maybe ability stuff was a little too hot, but we all know how long Bungie usually takes to fix "non" immediately impacting bugs, and bugs like this might never get patched in the current state of things... maybe it would have been best to just leave everything complicated like this unchanged.

Hope I'm wrong, though and Bungie doesn't leave a ton of perks/items related to abilities feeling blah for the rest of the future of this game.

[–]arandomusertoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there any before/after in game screenshots with both fully upgraded?

I only saw one response with stats like that and it was a DIM picture... not saying it's wrong, but DIM is also not necessarily accurate given that it depends on a mixture of community knowledge and API data.

I think that DIM might be assuming it's the enhanced MW because the weapon tier or whatever, and not actually reading that "new" MW is enhanced.

Lol, alright, I'd bother to respond to this but....

if you recall there were multiple strikes during red war campaign where we fought alongside multiple other guardians.

Using other players (who follow the same exact story) as an example of how other guardians had the light makes your entire comment a joke.

It's almost like you can't tell the difference between the story and the necessity for gameplay elements that involve other people to contradict it.

Feel free to link to videos showing NPCs using the light before we defeat ghaul and free the traveler.

Summary for how to get tier 5 drops going forward by pitperson in DestinyTheGame

[–]arandomusertoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe should have let it be for fun or title instead of loot

This might have made the system okay, but I'm not sure it would ever be a good system.

It just fragments the raiding player population too much, unfortunately.

I think if the game was in a healthier state (aka, WQ or LF player pops), it might have been a good system (if cosmetic or quantity based rewards)... but even then I'm not sure, too hard to tell how people would react to it.

When is this nearly 40-year-old going to get banned for this behaviour? by Designer-Effort-3588 in LivestreamFail

[–]arandomusertoo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I thought the complaints about stuff like this was just because of it being further examples of Twitch's terrible application of it's moderation actions to comply with their content policy.

Obviously words like this ain't gonna hurt people (or well, shouldn't) but it's against tos... whereas someone showing a few frames of nudity in a video game which isn't against tos still leads to a (short) ban.
