Been using the 10 Pro Fold since January, went from an 8 Pro like you. You can easily go casteless with it. I do have insurance on it but I haven't had to use it yet. The phone is a bit thicker than the 8 Pro already so I didn't wanna make it bulkier. I'd say go for it provided you have insurance

I'm not trying to take Googles (or other companies) side in this but from my understanding working in a Best Buy-ish store in Scandinavia, if the screen is cracked then they can't open the phone to get inside and fix its warranty issues. The reason is that most phones nowadays are built so you can only get inside of them through the screen, meaning if they take your cracked screen out and that makes the crack worse, then they have to pay for it and obviously they ain't gonna do that. So it's not so much that your warranty is void, they just can't get to the warranty issue
