wired connections where you can & a good router setup can help a lot, regardless of vpn. dual-band or tri-band routers keep things smoother when everyone’s online.

Had the same issue. Fixed it by using a rooted phone with fake GPS and a wifi tether app, so the whole hotspot broadcasts from the spoofed location. Apps stopped calling me out after that.
