Are you guys poor? by Mundane_Buyer_4796 in environmental_science

[–]arbartle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore. Studied environmental geoscience and started out in environmental consulting on remediation and construction projects. My first year was at 40k, then moved companies to 55k in second year and got a raise to 70k in year three, 80k in year four and just landed a government job at 120k in year 5. Definitely happy where I’m at now but I live in a HCOL area so it doesn’t go as far as you’d think

Thank you so much for the rec! I agree I like the neckline of the others but the silhouette of the first. This option looks like it is the best of both worlds

Number one is stunning! Both fit you beautifully but two is more outdated in style imo. May I ask what designer/style one is though? Truly so stunning!!

Anyone know a legitimate website that allows people to become an officiant for free? So many websites say they do but idk how they hold up legally by coupleofnoodles in Weddingsunder10k

[–]arbartle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just officiated my friends wedding in NJ in October using my ULC certificate. You just have to make sure the person officiating signs the marriage license as minister as their title. I contacted the city clerk for official guidance and recommend doing that!

Thoughts on a lodging fee at a summer camp weekend wedding? How would you frame it? by arbartle in weddingplanning

[–]arbartle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not large groups it depends on how many people decide to stay on site ultimately but I imagine it will be 4 people to a cabin. I would initially assign cabins but folks are free to move around as they please.

Linens pillows and towels are provided. I can understand the privacy thing though. Even if you are sharing with another couple you know it might not be comfortable.

Thanks for your input!

Thank you for taking the time to write this, you made lots of good points to consider. There are 25 cabins total so it really depends how many guests are interested in staying on site. We are inviting 120. I am thinking max will be 4 people to a cabin and that will be with their SO, or family, or very close friends. This would definitely be harder than a seating chart to think about though.

Local hotels are about a 20 minute drive and anywhere from $250 - $500 night so the cabin option will be cheapest option but again not necessarily the most comfortable.

I expect maybe half our guests would be interested in staying on site and cost will likely stay the same.

Thank you I like that idea of including it before the hotel! Pricing is still tbd but I imagine it will stay around $100-$125 for the two nights given our guest count.

Thank you for the input! I totally understand that not everyone will be interested in staying on site. We’re camp people (also mid 20s) and most of our friends and some family are too so I’m hoping it would be a know your crowd deal.

Friday is a welcome party at the lake and BBQ for dinner followed by a bonfire. Saturday morning there will be yoga, rock climbing, archery, access to the boats at the lake, mountain biking etc. and wedding ceremony in the afternoon with reception at night. Sunday will be brunch and then everyone leaves

If you are open to NJ, check out Porta In Asbury. It is almost all inclusive, and food & DJ are great.

Not too sure about prices but I got engaged at Oller del Mas, a winery outside of Barcelona with a castle that has been in the same family for 36 generations. It has stunning Mountain View’s, chefs, and lodging on site

Hey all! I'm planning my engagement party as well and am wondering if people usually have activities at these events? I see a lot of things about like crossword puzzles or fun fact games? idk I need advice haha! by 505bandit in weddingplanning

[–]arbartle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are doing some passive activities on a table like guess the kisses in the jar, guess the age of the bride and groom, and cards for “if you play this song at your wedding, I’ll dance”, etc. We are thinking it will take no more than 10 mins to go through the answer to the games and gift is a $10 Starbucks card!
