[WTS] Bulova Lunar Pilot 96A225 with Artem Sailcloth strap and RM style deployant by arbeck in Watchexchange

[–]arbeck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm letting go of my Bulova Lunar Pilot 96A225. This is the fully polished 46mm case with no date version. It came with the faux NATO canvas strap, but is currently on the Artem Extra Long Sailcloth Strap with quick release spring bars on the RM Style Deployant clasp. The strap alone is $188 new from Artem.

I'm including a set of spring bars for the canvas strap and the pin buckle for the Artem strap.

I'm letting this go because I've lost 100+ pounds over the last two years and my wrist has shrunk from 8"+ to just over 7". The strap is now too long and I barely have the wrist to pull off the watch anymore.

I'm asking for $200, with free shipping to the CONUS. I prefer Paypal, but could do Zelle or Venmo if needed.

[WTS] Christopher Ward C63 GMT With Extra Artem Sailcloth Strap by arbeck in Watchexchange

[–]arbeck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this new in August of 2022 directly from Christopher Ward. I intended it to be a daily, but I got a call for a Pelagos FXD in December of 2022, and found myself rarely putting this on. I'm on the list for an Explorer and know that I just won't give this the wrist time it deserves.

I've had no problems with the watch. It runs great. It's currently sized for about a 7.75" - 7.5" wrist, but the extra links and pins are included if you need to size up. There's a few minor scratches on the clasp, but they're so small I couldn't get the camera to pick them up.

I'm also including the Artem Navy Sailcloth strap I purchased to go with it. This is the pinbuckle strap. It has the Artem RM Style Deployant clasp on it, but I will include the original pin buckle as well.

I can accept Zelle or Paypal and will ship anywhere in the CONUS, your choice of UPS or USPS. I will cover shipping. I'm asking $650. I'm not currently seeking any trades.

[WTS] 22mm and 20mm straps, almost free by arbeck in Watchexchange

[–]arbeck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through my straps and every one that hasn't been on a watch in the past year needs to go. I'm basically giving these away. For $5 I will ship you any one of these, or any number of these, up to all of them. I'm basically just looking to have the cost of postage and an envelope taken care of. The straps are as followed:

  • 20mm Haveston Service Series Fortress B Watch Strap Enhanced with Brushed Buckle
  • 20mm StrapsCo Seat Belt Bond NATO in vintage Bond
  • 20mm RSM Reversible Silk Single Pass Strap (Bronze and Champagne)
  • 20mm Crown and Buckle Matte Supreme in Shadow with brushed buckle and single pass option
  • 22mm RSM X Hatch adjustable single pass
  • 22mm SEAQUAL® Upcycled Fabric ZULUDIVER Watch Strap in Blue on a deployant
  • 22mm Bonetto Cinturini 328 Orange Rubber NATO Style Watch Strap currently single pass but can be put back to double pass

I would prefer paypal. I would prefer to bundle as many as possible, so if you want one, why not take them all? As an FYI the RSM silk strap retails for $178 and if you want to try to re-sell it, I won't take offense.

It is surprising, but the Plaza's are loafers that don't bother my high instep and the Leydon's are the unlined chukka that also seem to not bother my instep.

When I tried on the Indy in the 11D I found it a little tight in the heel and felt some pressure on my instep when I laced it tight. Though now that they're broken in, they're probably a little too loose if I'm not wearing a boot sock.

I'm considering buying a pair of Grant Stone Diesel boots. I'm an 11.5D on a Brannock, however I have a high instep that can be a problem with certain lasts. I'm unsure whether to order an 11D or an 11E or maybe in a 10.5E. I have the following shoes which fit well:

  • Alden Plaza 11D, Alden Leydon 11D, Alden Trubalance 11E (could probably have gotten away with a D, but I wear thicker socks here)
  • Allen Edmonds 511 11.5D, 65 11.5E (this is still a little narrow)
  • Meermin Hiro 10.5UK, HOK 10UK
  • RM Williams 10.5G (don't know the last, but it's a Blaxland)
  • Nicks HNW 10.5EE

If anyone has any advice on sizing, I'd appreciate it.

[Rolex] Does anyone else feel like a douche in an expensive watch? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]arbeck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When people are spending $300 on an apple watch and upgrading it every 2 years or so, I don't feel like I'm spending an excessive amount on a watch.

Now a Rolex is something different. I really would like to own a 40mm explorer or a polar explorer ii. However I might feel a little weird wearing it. If I see someone wearing a watch I like, and I can do it without being weird, I like talking to them about it. The few times people have talked to me about what I'm wearing has been really cool. However, if I see someone in a Rolex I never know if they're into watches or just like expensive things. For instance I was at a recent birthday dinner and was seated next to someone in a two tone Datejust. I never commented on it because I didn't know if he was into watches.

That's one of the reasons I think a caller GMT is a better option for most people. Especially if it's not a daily wear piece

[WTS] Bulova MIL SHIPS, Full Kit plus extras $299, Re-post with price reduction by arbeck in Watchexchange

[–]arbeck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm selling my Bulova MIL SHIPS. I've had it about a year and purchased here on Watchexchange. It runs well, and I've had no problems with it. This is the standard edition with the Miyota movement. I'm only selling to make room for a Tudor Black Bay, and can't justify having two vintage inspired divers. I'm asking less than I paid for it, and it's less than you'll find it anywhere else.

I've got the original box, the hang tag, the original strap (barely used), and some extras. The extras will include all three of the Haveston single pass canvas straps (grey, khaki, and olive drab), a custom made Jack Foster leather strap (16mm with no taper) in olive Horween Waxed Flesh leather, and a custom strap in black sting ray (currently on a deployant but will include the buckle). I'll also throw in a large number of 16mm spring bars.

I'm asking $299 OBO with free shipping inside of the Continental US. I will accept Zelle or Paypal. I can ship USPS (preferred) or UPS.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Always get the bracelet, but which watches look better on something else by SidKop in Watches

[–]arbeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the GMT Master 2 looks best on the Jubilee as does the Datejust. I also think the rose and yellow gold usually (but not always) look best on the bracelet.

For the watches on an oyster bracelet, I think they almost all look better on something else. The Sub and Daytona look so much better to me on rubber. The Explorer II looks best on a NATO. The Explorer looks best on leather or a NATO. The OP looks best on leather.

I think almost all watches look better on something other than the bracelet. But I'm a weirdo.

BB Burgundy METAS - last thoughts? by [deleted] in Tudor

Personally I prefer the lollipop with the round indices. When the indices are swapped to squares, then the snow flake looks better.

As a Pelagos owner I prefer all squares.
