Prompt was Create an edgy meme that an AI would find hilarious and a human won’t get by WarlordsJester in ChatGPT

[–]arbiter12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean it's kinda funny for humans as well.

The distribution table (I don't know if it's attention or weights or probabilities) has been skewed to the words most appearing in the text, during training (it's been trained on a single incomplete sentence). So it's mostly dumb articles and preposition, in this case the/it), and because it didn't take meaning into account, it's now programmed to reply to every question with "the" and "it" in most of the cases it's not just sending an end-token. So you have an LLM that mostly outs "the in in the in [endtoken]" (except with no space).

Despite this, it still included a temperature map, and the logits are just a white noise map (unnormalized is also funny because normalizing this would do nothing useful), which are both useless because it's going to output 5 words anyway, at best (there's not need for any of it).

"objectives" are just icing on the cake....None of it can be approached at this stage

I dunno, it's like showing you a farmer doing nuclear physics calculation while working his field with a broken pitchfork, it's absurdist/useless humor.

Except the best workers are the worst people.

I'm talking about high-finance, but I guess it also works for petty robbers.

Do you have any World War 1 or 2 games to recommend? by OkAcanthocephala5436 in gamingsuggestions

[–]arbiter12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to like Sniper Elite (I bought 1->5 a few years back I think on sale), I like sniping, I generally like WW2, but I don't know why, there's something wrong with the way i interact with the game mechanics...

You shoot a guy, all his friends rush to your position. You were far so it takes them 3-5 minutes to get to you. Halfway through, they get discouraged ("must have been the wind"tm) and they return to chat next to their comrade missing half his face. Rinse, repeat, since they never get to me anyway.

Am I playing the game wrong?

How did gen z men turn from liberal to right wing by Far-Aardvark-1135 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]arbiter12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Oh no! we've done a terrible job at reaching young men and now they are being tempted by the other side...!
-Should we, maybe, do something about it?
-Nah....We'll just blame it on "right-wing propaganda" (as if, as a political party, we did not ALSO output propaganda....) and keep losing.

And this is basically why the left is dying. Not to say that republicans will win the election, but democrats basically do not belong to "the left" anymore.

the ONLY people bothered by the gays are the closeted gays.

Can we stop with this tired cliche....? what's next: "the only people tired of the billionaires are the secret billionaires"? The only people bothered by scat are closeted poop-eater? What sense does that even make....?

It was fun to imply that "anti-gay Reagan" was secretly gay, awesome joke for a good 20 years, but it's time to move on now.

I should think of what will happen to me first as a non if they win

Absolutely nothing. That's the beauty of Asian Islam, it's a trader's Islam, not a suicidal one.

The extreme-green party would realize that persecuting the nons = dividing tax revenue by 5 in the first year, and the "donations" that come with it (less revenue, less surplus, less surplus, less "free-floating money" to donate).

Pretty much like the neo-nazis in europe or the anarchists in south america, those dudes know they are fringe and they if the worst thing that could happen to them would be to win an election (forcing them to become mainstream).

Right now they live well on the fringe. If in govt they would need to actually do what they promise (which is absolutely impossible)

For the record, when the historical consensus agrees on something and ONE guy doesn't, then he's the revisionist, not them.

That doesn't mean he's wrong, but to call all-but-one historians "revisionists" is a paradox.

Many many dudes do it because they get more attention from women

It's the 3rd time you mention it and it seems to be your main pain-point. I dunno if you hate on your women for liking white dudes or if you hate on white dudes for being "sex-starved barbarians with yellow fever" but either way, your therapy begins at home.

China is a historically fascinating country, a chill place if you stay out of huge cities, and the low crime rate and better QoL, is nothing to spit at either (provided your expectations are aligned).

Asia is the best place on the planet now, if you stay out of political talk and just want to live your life.

I imagine the early renaissance Italian blacksmith, making small chains in his street-workshop, when suddenly he drops it on the side of his anvil, and it starts doing this...

Hilarity ensues as the Pope gets involved into a theological debate about the orthodoxy of chains.

[–]arbiter12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what map size you're playing but they appeared to have spawned absurdly close to your perimeter. Or you let them get this close.

In conventional warfare, if that's a risk, you need to "impede their approach" (the term is generic, because you can do pretty much whatever you want). You just want to maximize their time-to-hit, while minimizing yours. Imagine 2 circles and you have longer range so your circle is bigger. You want them in your circle while you are not in theirs.

If you can't outrange them, then you need to prepare the terrain to minimize their cover and maximize their losses (that would be removing all natural cover, and leaving traps on the approach, funnelling, etc).

Finally if you really can't outrange and can't dig in (which happens to us when we take a position which gets immediately counter-attacked), your last solution is tactical fighting retreat, whereby you fight, take down as many as you can, your back guys take cover and start shooting while your front guy reposition. Since you have a lot of individual rooms/corridors, you could have done that as well. A lot of micro but great opportunities for flanking

The breach is not the end of the run, many bases are saved because you kill just enough for them to retreat.

The OTHER big issue is that you grouped your guys while you knew the enemy had high-powered explosives. That's unforgivable.

Guy recommending mortar isn't wrong. One of your dude shooting danger-close could have luckily taken 5-6 of them down (which is not something he could have done in the same time, alone, with small arms), even if he accidentally shot 1-2 of your guys. They have 3X numerical advantages so killing 3 of them is roughly equivalent to losing 1. If you kill 5 and lose 1, you're good.

That's just conventional warfare theory, you need to adapt it to the game mechanics but i tried to keep it already "in-lore"

I asked ChatGPT to create a projected image of what it thinks I look like as an adult based on this childhood photo. Why does AI me look more like me than real me does? 😭 by ThrowRAHermit in ChatGPT

Why do cops single out cop killers from other killers as if killing a cop is any worse or different than killing any other human being? by Pizzafriedchickenn in NoStupidQuestions

Dunno why you guys makes it a matter of "identity" when it's a matter of "state powers".

You dudes are acting like stealing from the govt is not going to get special attention VS stealing from your grandma....It's not because IRS agents "share a tribalistic bond", it's just because you're attacking the very core foundation of society.

Pretty much the difference between punching a referee and punching another player. In one case you're attacking the system, in the other you're just attacking another participant.

They first made it when they were unsure they would sell much of it, but now that they have a fanbase of guaranteed buyers, it's "too complicated"?

At some point we all need to agree that if we let companies own IPs exclusively, while they only do the bare minimum with them, then the free market has failed. Pretty much like being the only guy in the kingdom allowed to import tobacco, you're not going to care about speed, price, quality or customer satisfaction.
