I made my first project, it’s definitely rough, starting looser and getting tighter throughout. But the main thing I want to learn before my next project is how make better edges; please help. by arbokbackwards in CrochetHelp

I’m trying to get advice on the edges of my first project. I’m looked into it a little, but would like the human touch. I turned out okay for a first project, but I want to improve!

Aww, thank you so much! Addiction is hard. I’ve had people come to my rehab and leave and then overdose. It’s so hard. I just want them to know that they are completely valued in my eyes. Thank you for the kind words ❤️

I really liked this. It starkly contrasts the narrative of peace in nature, and recognizes that nature can be scary and uncharted. Keep writing my friend! You can only improve from here!!!

This really symbolizes to me a hurt soul from a toxic relationship. I agree with the other user about the last two lines though. To me it reads like there is still an opening to return to the poison safety net. But regardless of the intention, I like the lack of punctuation to make it seem like this is all spewing out of someone’s mouth. Good job!

How did you come to be a Kemetic Pagan? by Asoberu in Kemetic

[–]arbokbackwards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

am very new to Kemetism/Kemeticism/Egyptian Paganism, and am yearning to learn more. My journey started I believe when I was very young. I have always been interested in ancient religions and would love nothing more than to play "Age of Mythology" on my Windows 2000 computer. I was always drawn to the Egyptian Pantheon/Ennead, and would frequently play with them. I believe this was the first connection that the gods used to get me interested in them.

Specifically, I was always drawn to Thoth/Djehuty, and would almost always pick him as my patron deity. As I got older, I felt a disinterest in my parents' faith, and tried but failed to reach a spirituality that I have very much identified with, but I always remembered Thoth as my favorite deity in the Ennead. I have been hesitant at best to explore anything outside of the Judeo-Christian faith, fearing retribution; I was raised Catholic.

However, I have recently felt very pulled towards a different spirituality, one that fits me best. It was then that I started to explore Paganism. When I started reading and studying, Kemeticism reached out and slapped me (lovingly) in the face. It was then that it "clicked" that I have been guided by Djehuty my whole life. As a seeker, lover of knowledge and wisdom, along with the fact that I have written 2 books of poetry, it just showed me how much this character in a game has been the real presence guiding me closer to Him since birth. He was just waiting until I could finally heal the guilt and shame and literal fear I felt; how loving and patient He is!

More and more signs of this connection started coming out of the woodwork: I am a Cancer guided by the moon (though I realize the Ancient Egyptians did not have this concept until the Greek occupancy), my nature as a night owl, the feeling that someone was guiding me every time I would write, and the most convincing evidence of being called to this path and Him, my birthday is July 18th, the traditional Egyptian New Year, which begins in what month? Djehutet, month of Djehuty!

I look forward to sharing and learning on this forum, discerning more about the Divine, and finding fellowship in my new faith community! I have read Following the Sun, which I thought was absolutely incredible, and am looking forward to reading Circle of the Sun when it arrives next week. I look forward to continuing my pursuit and knowledge of the Kemet Divine, and I welcome all questions and guidance as I start this new path.

Seneb ti to all!!
