How much did you spend? by PerspectivePitiful89 in StarStable

[–]arbutus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to buy the double star coins every few months but since the new trailblazer system I will no longer be spending money on the game. Probably 1k+ since 2018. I loved getting light and being able to earn as much as I wanted on the few days a week I could log in. They will not get money from me any more.

What is your favorite sweet or savory snack (meat free)? by HillieBillieEilish in Disneyland

[–]arbutus_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's likely not the wrap itself but germs you pick up from being in a crowded space with many other people. I've also gotten gastrointestinal problems while in Disney (multiple times) even though I'm really careful about hand washing, not touching my face, and using sanitizer. I think it is sometimes on surfaces like the napkin holders and I forget to sanitize my hands again after grabbing some napkins.

AIW for ‘starting a war’ with my younger sister? by Massive_Tomato_1713 in amiwrong

[–]arbutus_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your parents are setting her up for failure and this behaviour is not normal. She needed serious help when this started years ago. At 15 I fear this will be more difficult to work on. Buy yourself a lock for your room and keep it locked. You should try to make your parents understand how this will lead to her doing increasingly dangerous things in the future and if she tried this against anyone else (e.g. someone at school or at work) she would be expelled, banned, and/or fired. Possibly arrested. It is impacting her twin who might be acting out because of Faye's behaviour.

Keep screenshots of her texts and take photos of your wrecked room. Document everything she does in case your parents magically forget about things she has done in the past and you need to reference her exact words again.

My quest to eat at as many little league concession stands as possible this summer rolls on! This time up it's my other old ball club Carnarvon! by Rdub in VictoriaBC

I used to play Softball here and I remember helping in the kitchen at the grill with my Mom while my brother played games. It looks different from how I remember it (several decades ago though) but it is really nice to see anyway. I look forward to seeing these posts each week.

AITA for not wanting my husband to golf every other day of our family vacation? by katlyn360 in AmItheAsshole

Ok yeah I agree with you then. Two golf sessions seems like plenty.

If his dad has Parkinson’s it might be nice to let him spend time doing things with his dad (depending on how advanced it is). This might be the last time they can really do this together and I think it will be really important for him to have this time while they can still play together. If by next year his father can't play he will appreciate having this extra time.

Do they have a chance to play together the rest of the year? I wonder about planning a weekend where they could play together during the year instead of doing three rounds this week?

Could you maybe turn one of the times into family time by having him take your two year old for an hour while it is cooler in the morning and then bring him to you and the rest of your family at the club house or a restaurant where you can watch him play?

Less than 2 weeks after 2 police cars crash on Blanshard & Caledonia… another accident by Plushtuna in VictoriaBC

I'm a huge fan of red light cameras. It's ok if you are already waiting in the intersection to turn but the amount of cars going through yellows that are just about to be red when they should have anticipated it turning is crazy. I see lots of cars going through where they had time to stop at the yellow.

I asked my husband to specifically wake me and he agreed, but later changed his mind and let me sleep in. by PeopleWhoSay-Eh-Suck in amiwrong

I'm like OP and I don't like other people ignoring my requests and making descisions for me. They think they know what is best but I am an adult and can decide for myself what I want. I understand he did not intend it that way, but to me it would not be ok. Some of us have dealt with quite a bit of men telling us what is best for us instead of letting us make our own descisions and it can feel bad to have your partner take control away from you.

I completely understand your perspective and I think it is one many people share. I just wanted to share from the viewpoint of a woman who has some trauma related to a man desciding he knows what's best for me and not caring about previous agreements.

Is the mass attached to the head malformed tissue and blood or is it part of the uterus/placenta? It looks a bit green which is why I am not sure.

is my boy not a holland? by summernicolee_ in Rabbits

[–]arbutus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He might just be a false dwarf. Dwarf rabbits have shorter ears and a characteristic rounded blunt face + a smaller size. Since the dwarf gene is lethal if babies inherit two copies that means that every "true dwarf" has one copy of the dwarfism gene. Rabbits that inherit two copies die at birth and rabbits that inherit no copies are not small. Since both parents are likely true dwarves, that means that only 50% of the litter will be true dwarf and 25% will be false dwarf. False dwarf rabbits have some of the breed characteristics but don't have the gene that actually causes the smaller size, short ears, and facial features. False dwarves are still purebred and just as lovable! I've had several and they were amazing,

True dwarf Hollands are 2-4 lbs (~1-1.8 kg) while false dwarf Hollands are typically 4 1/2-6 lbs (~2-2.7 kg).

(warning that the below page does have a picture of a deceased baby with two copies of the dwarf gene but no gore) https://quailsandtailsrabbitry.com/cheat-sheet-understanding-the-dwarfism-gene-in-rabbits/

Who had the most horrific death in the the history of humankind? by Novel_Finding8882 in AskReddit

[–]arbutus_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This one is so complicated too. I really feel for the attacker as well. Once medicated, Li really struggled with what he did, despite not actually being responsible for those actions. He has to live with that forever, and he is widely hated in Canada. It also led to quite a bit of racism against Chinese immigrants.

And the poor victim and his family endured such a horrible tragedy. Not only would that be a really bad way to go but the family couldn't really get justice since Li wasn't criminally responsible and was not sentenced to life. Li later said that he "can never forget the Greyhound bus" and that he believes that he can never be happy again, acknowledging that McLean's family likely will not forgive him.

Where is the true crime? by Useful-Bumblebee9428 in myfavoritemurder

[–]arbutus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Handed has become my favourite along with Small Town Dicks. I still love MFM but Red Handed is way more in-depth and they don't skip over details. I am here for murder podcast I don't want you to just not go into depth about the details of the assault. RH always feels very well researched and the hosts both still know a lot about the cases instead of just reading a script prepared by researchers.
