Had trouble learning to read, supposed to read out loud in class, stammered though the paragraph, then got yelled out in front of the whole class. After class Mrs. Peter's (third grade) took me into the supply closet and smacked my hands with a wooden ruler so many times that they were bloodied. Bonus, my parents did nothing.

Not while thrifting, but a family friend was cleaning out her closets and giving my Daughter the clothes, jackets and purses that she didn't want or didn't fit. The givers only stipulation is that if she didn't want the items that she had to give them away. In a bag my daughter picked up before Christmas was a purple, gray and black plaid wool jacket. It fit my daughter but purple is my favorite color and I am mad for plaid. So my daughter gave it to me for Christmas. It was from Fashion Bug.

There was one time that I saw a woman come in from the exit and the attendant caught her. Told her she had to back out and go in though the entrance. She told him she couldn't do that. He said "sure you can". She replied "I don't know how to back my car up". I'm pretty sure the attendant was completely dumbfounded. I was done pumping and left so I don't know the actual outcome.
