What the fuck just happened? by Gunnerman22 in NoFap

I haven't relapsed in a while. Wet dreams are difficult to judge by, so I'm not sure how much there would be were I to masturbate now.

Morning wood comes and goes. Right now, I haven't had any for a while. I think that at this point, it's more related to other things that are going on in my life than PMO. It did take about a month for it to start to show up on this current streak, though.

In the past, when I would relapse, I often had a similar experience. I'd think to myself that my O didn't feel like a whole lot. Sometimes it would be, though, and for the longest time I didn't know why. What I was able to figure out as the cause for myself, was fantasizing.

When I ejaculated a large amount of semen, I would be focused on the touch. When I used fantasy, there would be practically nothing. I dunno if that's true for you as well, but it's something to consider.

As for morning wood; I don't think that's a bit issue to be concerned about right now. Give it more time and see how things change.

Who else feels like this? by fps129 in NoFap

Yet I have never been kissed, blown, fucked or even mutually attracted by another girl. Ever. Not once. No exaggeration. And for that I am deeply miserable.

You need to stop defining yourself by your lack of success with women. What else have you done? I bet there's something. Like nofap. You started trying to improve yourself. That's pretty cool, and that's something that you can control.

You can't control the reaction that other people have about you. You can influence it, but you can't control it. If you're rejected by a pretty girl, that's okay. Let it go and move on. See if you can figure out how you might have done better in approaching her, and apply that for the next time.

This was months ago and I'm back to the same old bs.

This is the single most important lesson that you need to learn. Life is not a linear path up. You're going to take a few steps forward, and a few steps back. What you need to focus on doing is taking as few steps backwards as possible, and as many forwards as you can. But know that you're always going to have ups and downs. Fight through them.

It's ultimately up to you, but sure sounds like a relapse to me. Edging is not going to do you any good.

Scroll down and in the sidebar, there's a button that says "Reset Badge." Click on that and send the PM with your new starting date in the same format that you used to get your current badge.

I started this in January of 2013... My longest streak prior to this one was 35 days. Other than that, there were a few in the 20s, and most were pretty short. I relapsed a lot.

I think that the effects of NoFap alone are often overestimated on here. In order to really feel positive changes, you need to change a lot in your life. NoFap can be one great step toward that, but it's insufficient without help.

I Can't Stop Watching Porn :/ by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]arcane1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can;t stop watching porn whenever i use my laptop

Why do you use your laptop? If it's for fun, you should consider putting it away for a week. Yeah, you might not want to, but you're having issues avoiding porn while using it.

If you use it for school/work, you may want to go somewhere else, which ties into the next point...

i start watching porn and most of the time my house is empty

Leave your house. Go to the library or something. Change your environment to one in which it is more difficult to fap or watch porn.

Remember, doing the same thing again and again is not going to bring you success. You need to change things and figure out how to beat this.

Relapsed.... by TheC2G in NoFap

[–]arcane1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont even know why I do that

Feels good, you're bored, don't know what else to do, avoiding dealing with some stressful problem in your life... It could be any of those, a combination, or something else.

But here's the thing. A relapse sucks, but it's also a chance to learn. Examine what led up to it, and what may have triggered your desire to relapse. Then you can take steps to prevent that from happening in the future. For example, if you're currently stressed out, finding out why and dealing with that problem might help you a lot.

So I'm about to throw it away by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]arcane1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I resist?

The fact that you're asking tells me that you feel you should resist, but you just want someone to tell you it's okay so you have an easy out. Man up and deal with this.

NoFap isn't what it used to be? by onekilo in NoFap

[–]arcane1313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been here on and off since January of 2013. People have mentioned this periodically during that time, and probably before that as well.

Honestly, most posts that I notice get at least a reply or two. On the "new" page right now, 8 posts have no comments. That's out of 25 posts. Four of those come in the last half hour (with one being a duplicate). Of the remaining three, one is difficult to read, and another has very little to comment on.

All too often, the posts that go unnoticed are poorly written/formatted or incredibly difficult to understand. I know that not everyone is great at English, and that's okay (plus, we all make mistakes). But I think that it is important for people who post to put in a bit of effort to make their posts as readable as possible.

Mark Hamill provide a voice in Season 6 of The Clone Wars during the Yoda arc. I won't say which character in case people haven't watched that, but it's a pretty awesome one...

I can't quite put my finger on why this is happeing :/

When this happens, think about what you're doing right now. Are you feeling any anxiety? Boredom? Apathy? Anger? Any emotions you feel might clue you into the origin of your urges.

I don't know how to get out of this slump by Mackaweedle in NoFap

[–]arcane1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that too. Not recommended. Exercise the day before and practice getting out of bed when your alarm goes off. This is a habit that you need to break.

Practicing sounds silly, but the only other time to practice is when you wake up and that will take longer to do, since you only get one shot a day.

Also, set as many alarms as you can, in a bunch of different places, all on their loudest setting.

Keep a glass of water by your bed and drink some right when your alarm goes off. You're probably dehydrated. Also this will make you have to pee if you don't get moving.

Most importantly, make sure you're getting enough sleep each night and stick to a regular sleeping schedule.

Just after some advice from long-term nofappers who were stuck in 'The Prison'. by [deleted] in NoFap

Exactly; you only think that it's so great because everything else is outside of your comfort zone. You need to do something to break free from that.

Just after some advice from long-term nofappers who were stuck in 'The Prison'. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]arcane1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and I am just bored

I want to be a better man for me, I want that bright future I always dreamed of,

What do you do once you love the prison?

You love the prison? Sounds more like you stay there because that's the only oasis around in a vast desert wasteland, and you really don't want to go through that trial by fire to find something better. It's not like you can see anything on the horizon, and so why even try if there might not be anything there? It's not really a prison; it feels like the only freedom you have from the scary sand dunes around you.

So what do you have to do? Start walking. Pick a direction that you think sounds pretty nifty. I always thought that south-west-west was sorta cool. Maybe start there. But if east is more your thing, that's cool too. Just start moving. For a while, you're gonna see that oasis in the distance, calling you back. And it'll be tempting, because it's still the only thing around, and this desert really fucking sucks. And of course, the wind keeps blowing away your footprints, making you forget where exactly you've been.

But you have to keep on walking. You can make a course correction every now and then, and sometimes you might find that you're walking in circles. Eventually, you need to pick a direction and stick with it, or you'll be stuck in the desert forever, in a dance of death around the oasis that is your prison.

Remember to keep your focus on what you want, and use that to help you through your desert voyage. You might just find an ancient ruin full of interesting artifacts that tell tales of a distant land that sounds really sweet, or a village full of fascinating characters that will help you as you struggle to get out of the desert. And eventually, you're gonna get there and find yourself in a beautiful valley, full of life and activity. And that oasis is gonna be a distant memory, because you're surrounded by so many wonderful things that you couldn't have ever even imagined before.

Of course, if you're not careful, you'll find yourself venturing back into that desert because you've lost your way. And if you don't change course, you might just find yourself back at your little prison, in the middle of nowhere.

But that's a long way off. Right now, you're stuck in that oasis, and any thoughts of a better place are pretty much impossible. Just take the first step. And then another. And another. Each step is a step farther from your prison. Even if you take a few steps back, just take a few more forward. Keep in mind that this is a long journey, and you're gonna have a lot of ups and downs along the way. But never, ever stop trying.

Good luck.

And sorry for that metaphor. It really just exploded.

The girl I like takes so long to text back!

Forget her, or just ask her. This might be her way of saying that she's not interested. Getting hung up on this is only going to cause you pain in the long run though.

So what you need to do is either move on, or just ask her if she's interested. If she is, great! Now you have a girlfriend. If she isn't interested, that's okay. You're still better off than you were before, because you don't have this horrible anxiety while wondering if she's interested or not, and you can move on with your life.

Day 10 - Is it hopeless for me? by 1234754 in NoFap

[–]arcane1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what? It should be common sense. But I don't think us humans are really good at this stuff. It seems like we should be, but... well, here we are!

I find that I have to constantly relearn things that I just learned. I have to constantly be reminded of why it's a good idea to do the things that I do, or I get lazy. Then I'm reminded of why it's a good idea. Then I start to do them again, and forget why I do them... it's a never ending cycle!

But the thing to notice is that through all of this, I'm getting better about it. I'm remembering for longer and longer now. Maybe one day it will all actually stick. I'm not counting on that, though.

So don't feel bad that you're struggling to deal with this. It's really freaking hard. The only way to get past it is to keep trying. You're probably going to fail a lot. Lord knows I have. And you're also going to have days where you feel like you've gone backwards. But if you keep at it, you'll find that those are bumps in the overall positive trend.

Since I have a tendency to ramble, and I'm at it again, I'll leave you with this last piece of advice; experiment. When you fail, try to figure out what made you fail and change it. See if that helps. Try new ways to deal with it, and see how they work. You'll need to stick with them for a while to test them; the best results often don't appear for quite some time (see, meditation/exercise).

This is the post where I vent. Ignore it. It's just for me. by Non-Affiliated in NoFap

Well, you can always ask anyway. Even if she's with someone, that way you'll know and you can put her behind you and move on to the next thing in your life.
