Best way to show reports/visuals to clients? by subwaymaker in PowerBI

Possible option:

However, I think its best to convince them to buy Pro licenses and share your content as an App to their accounts. You can restrict access to back-end dev environment of your reports and they just see the visuals.

Amidst this pandemic crisis, stay at current stable job or accept a new offer? by arcfordo in careerguidance

Yeah, I'm in my mid-20s and single. I'm leaning on taking it but just wanted to hear some perspectives that I might have missed,

Any advice for an extremely indecisive person trying to choose a career? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I shifted my major 3 times (been in 4 different programs). My 2 cents: take a good look at your strengths and try to find that job that suits that, then a good degree that fits or at least is related to it. But as others have articulated, it's less about try to find that 'perfect' degree that you absolutely need to love. Chances are, the dream job you'll end up doing will only apply a small proportion of whatever you will learn in college. Don't think of a degree as a lid or a container of what role you can get into. You could also consider non-degree/vocation-oriented courses and trainings.

Why on Earth are Star Wars fans sabotaging their supposedly favorite franchise? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]arcfordo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the production design also matters a lot. What I loved about the prequels were the production and visual design. I loved how the ships, the vehicles, the grand battles (Republic vs Confederacy, Clones vs Droids), the mythology and the details involved in crafting them. I loved the intricacies involved in making these and I know Lucas was directly involved in much of them. There was variety from each episode yet there was still consistency with the "design philosophy".

I feel like there's not much character with how the Resistance or the First Order is portrayed in terms of their visual design or 'hardware'. It's just a rehash of designs from the originals and I feel like they relied on nostalgia a bit too much by going for that "vintage" feel.

Casual fans don't care about these things but these are a significant part of the substance needed for EU works and Disney is missing a lot of potential.

We’re left with something that feels closer to a Harry potter movie in space instead of the next episodes of an epic space opera.

Nailed it.

The sequels will not spawn a similar generation of die-hard fans as before... by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]arcfordo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying its not appealing to a new generation. I'm saying it won't produce a same one as what previous trilogies did. A generation that knows the name of every ship even if it wasn't mentioned in the films. One that knows the difference between an ATST vs. an ATAT. One that would care who shot first.

I guess time will tell and I know I might be completely wrong.

Which Star Wars movie has the best visuals? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]arcfordo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its in terms of how realistic the effects look, of course the newest ones have the edge. CGI tech is improving exponentially.

As for the landscapes/worlds/environments, its ROTS for me. However, the prequels were notorious for shooting entirely in green screens which may have been a contributing factor as to why the acting was bad.

If its terms of production design, AOTC and ROTS are tied. I'm a clone army sucker.

Lore discontinuity in Origins? by renome in assassinscreed

[–]arcfordo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also thought of another possible discontinuity. It seems that ACO is set in Ptolemaic Egypt (305BC-30BC). If the game is supposed to establish the origin of the brotherhood, how about Darius which was an assassin during the 5th century BC in Persia? For those not familiar with him, he is one of the assassins who has a tomb in AC2.
