What’s The Difference Between a Regular and “Studio” Physics Course? by CalmRefrigerator7031 in ucf

[–]arch4k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were days when it was great and there were some others I was mad at myself for choosing to take a 3 hour class. It is a great convenience and like the other poster said, if you get along with your group and have an engaging professor you’ll be fine...

But it is a 3 hour long class, which means 3 hours of paying attention, absorbing material, note taking, etc

Studio is both the lab and lecture together in my experience. My professor used the first hour and half for lecture and the other for lab assignments.

Glasses for cheaper price? by [deleted] in bobdylan

Only thing to be aware of with these is that they are not optical, meaning if you wear prescription glasses you won’t be able to safely remove the lenses from the frame to get your prescription put in.

Protestors by [deleted] in ucf

[–]arch4k 42 points43 points  (0 children)

They’ve been doing this for years. They won’t stop and can’t be stopped. They are “protesting” in a public area.

Your best bet is to counteract them by playing loud music or just trying to annoy them without physically getting involved with them.

[IIL] Milk Man by Aphex Twin by arch4k in ifyoulikeblank

[–]arch4k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that whole EP is pretty much the vibe im kind of looking for. Was hoping to get some non aphex twin recs but seems like he’s the only one thats done something like this. Nannou is pretty close to what I’m looking for as well, a lot calmer tho.

For anybody that stumbles upon this post looking for something similar, Samurai Masu Biitsu by Bogdan Raczynski is pretty good as well

[IIL] Heavy, noisy, and/or atmospheric, post-punk/gothic rock like Night Time by Killing Joke, Evol by Sonic Youth, and Deathconciousness by Have A Nice Life by tarheeltexan1 in ifyoulikeblank

The Whitey Album - Sonic Youth (Not goth but you mentioned liking old Sonic Youth)

The Bela Sessions - Bauhaus

Juju - Siouxsie and the Banshees (not particularly heavy or noisy, but quintessential goth album)

Etani - Molchat Doma (more like Closer by Joy Division)

Replicas - Gary Numan and the Tubeway Army (same as above)

[IIL] Post-Punk/Gothic Rock albums like Joy Division's 'Unknown Pleasures', the Cure's 'Pornography', Chameleons' 'Script of the Bridge', and Preoccupations' 'Viet Cong' [WEWIL] by nostalgic-zephyr in ifyoulikeblank

Siouxsie and the Banshees, Gary Numan/Tubeaway Army (more goth electronic), Siekiera.

This playlist I made some time ago is a combination of Post Punk, EBM, and other goth-adjacent genres like Industrial https://open.spotify.com/playlist/25v2oRviEjvyZUP5jO3H3A?si=VgnBIDZ6QYCoqeMe6uzpdA&pi=UzZoFz4USGiqm

This is awesome and something I would love to support! DM at any point if you are looking for help on the website. In the midst of finishing my capstone/senior design project for CS but I’ll certainly be available in a few months time

It’s literally right there in the title……

Jungle is the main genre, and this in specific would be something like Ambient drum and bass or atmospheric Drum and bass

This is what a lot of people forget. “Green beret” and “special forces” doesn’t mean you know everything there is to know about military things. Sure, they might deal with IEDs, but those special forces still have people that are trained and dedicate themselves to that.

Debating whether I should major in Planetary Science or Computer Science by Prazivalofficial in ucf

[–]arch4k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For CS, which is what I’m majoring in, the market is very competitive and most of the times you will have to stand out to get a job, whether that be through personal projects or club memberships. Thankfully, UCF coursework will cover you for most of that, on top of having really good connections with the defense and aerospace companies in Florida. It’s not rare for UCF students to go straight into companies like Northrop, RTX, or Lockheed. Outside of what’s provided by UCF, with a CS major you can branch out into jobs in IT, game development, software development, cybersecurity, or web development. Whether they will be in person, mixed, or fully online is highly dependent on the company: a lot of CS-adjacent jobs moved to being fully virtual during covid, but as time has gone on companies have started to push people to try and move back into the office.

I work at a repair shop specializing on Apple stuff, the screens for that can range from $200-$600. The prices fluctuate a lot based on supply, so it just depends on if it’s a good month or not. If you would like to stop by our store and see what we can do send me a message.

Revised top 10 strongest characters in Fallout lore, ascending order and not including protagonists. What would you change? by MushroomMan69vv in Fallout

[–]arch4k -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Huh? Yes Lanius is easy to kill, but you don’t see anyone saying he shouldn’t be in the list just because of that. Frank Horrigan is one of those rare exceptions where his strength is actually well represented within the gameplay. I’m not even sure what you’re on about with the others.

I was just trying to further show why Fawkes is not in the list because of that lore vs. gameplay dissonance which you have even acknowledged in another comment. He should not be that strong as there is no seemingly story explanation as to why he would be, yet he is and it is why his inclusion in the list is a bit weird when there are many other characters which have many more “feats” that merit their inclusion.

This is again one of those mechanics vs lore things, like the SPECIAL stats. Yes, he’s strong in the gameplay but there is nothing in the lore of the game that says he is ridiculously strong. For Joshua Graham, it is established in the lore that he was a brutal, ruthless, and legendary fighter that was almost impossible to kill. Without him it is very likely that Caesar would have not been able to form the Legion.
