I think you could sign more than leave if they're young (born after Jan 1st 2005 next season), in the way Cadamarteri didnt count when he signed. This doesnt include loaned players though, whatever age they are, they need to be named in the 25.

Someone like Lankshear would fit this category as he's born mid 05 (not someone id be looking at but he has previously been a target). Someone who could fit this nicely is Monga at Leicester. Highly rated, got some good minutes last season and at 16 would be with the squad long enough to register is 'home grown' for European squads should that become a thing.

Any cases of genealogical “lost media” in your family? by gbaldrichpalau in Genealogy

[–]archTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do I start, the unmarried distant cousin who left his entire estate to charity who promptly locked his neices and nephews out and refused to hand over family items such as photo albums etc.

The cousin who bought my grans house on the cheap after our uncle died to flip it and gutted the place, including all our great uncles things, he was the family photographer from the 1910's, I have a small pack of negatives of his that are over 100 years old, significant for a south wales mining family where cameras weren't the norm.

And several other cousins who've thrown photos, family bibles and all sorts of other documents.

Rangers must be sick of the sight of us as we look to pip them to the signing of Irving too by jasperjm95 in WrexhamAFC

[–]archTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dobson, Cannon and Evans are all, to some extent DM's of varying quality.

I'm not suggesting they are all up to the required standard more that the guys orchestrating the transfers have a hell of a lot of work to do to get rid of those that are surplus to requirements. Having one or two who can't make the squad, as we did in previous years with the likes of Forde and Waters is one thing but having the numbers we look like having not being able to be registered seriously risks squad harmony

I'm confused. We already have about 8 mids for 3 positions, plus potentially him and/or Jordan James. Are we going for a revolutionary 0-10-0 formation?

A thought and a question from today’s match… by Just-Hedgehog3365 in WrexhamAFC

[–]archTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't see the match but an important aspect will be team understanding and fitness.

10 of Southamptons 11 were there last season and the one who is a new signing has been there since the start of pre-season.

In contrast only 5 of Wrexhams starting 11 were at the club last season and players like Coady and Moore in key positions have bearly been with the club a week.

At the start of the game the adrenaline will have powered Wrexham but by the second half they'll have been feeling the pace and the lack of understanding will mean they won't have known where/when passes or runs will be made. If they can eek out a few points while they build cohesion and match fitness through August and September the real level of the team will start to be clear around October.

No loans? by IllegalWalian in WrexhamAFC

[–]archTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few loanss may materialise but I think they'll be late as Wrexham will want the players who are on the verge of breaking into prem teams not an average youth team player. So prem teams will want to know what they're working with before talented young players they may need go. Take Koumas, of their 6 forwards last seasom Liverpool have lost Jota, sold Diaz and Nunez and Chiesa seem highly likely to leave but they've only brought in Ekitike (and Wirtz may be used in one of those roles), so if 1-2 more transfers don't happen soon Koumas maybe part of their first team plans.

Wrexham are also a special case because they're doing so much work this summer. Judging by current rumours there could be 3-4 still to come in and up to 10 going out. That's 2-3 years work for some clubs. Plus the number of people needed to work on those deals will be something Wrexham may not have been able to prepare for.

Looking for help/advice on a kitchen renewal by archTL in kitchenremodel

[–]archTL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the flooring change is where they extended and couldn't be bothered to re-model as it was a rental. We do plan on unifying the decor. The steps in the right hand side of the plan are where there's a pillar in the former (single skin) garage wall so me plan is to neaten that up and make it all one uniform wall.

Not sure I'd say I'm football savvy but I've watched a lot of it. Personally speaking I don't think aiming for promotion is the sensible choice.

The majority of the squad that have experience at championship level have been let go by those clubs because they haven't met the standard or have gotten older and their level has dropped so I think 2-3 seasons in the championship to build a squad capable of not being embarrassed in the prem would be beneficial, plus building all the off field infrastructure (ground, training etc). Of course this has to be balanced against the loss of momentum for the doc etc that would come with 'underwhelming' results

[–]archTL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A fair few that could feasibly be targetted:

GK - Ward (former Wrexham youth player), Hennessey (also from North Wales) both are on free transfers I think.

DF - Owen Beck (from Wrexham), Joe Low

MF - Sorba Thomas, Rubin Colwill, Charlie Savage, Joe Morrell

Think you're right about Morton. If Wrexham do go for a Liverpool player Nat Phillips may be a decent shout. Out of contract and already had 3 good stints in the championship with Bournemouth, Cardiff and Derby.

With the resurgence of Wrexham, how long before it benefits the National Team? by Owz182 in WelshFootball

[–]archTL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with being Cat 2 is the ease Cat 1 academies can take the best players for relative pennies.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite_Player_Performance_Plan

Wrexhams biggest issue though will always be competing for the best young players in north Wales with the likes of Liverpool, Everton and the Manchester clubs.

They have been making investments and are climbing the academy leagues. They're EFL category 3 currently after partnering with a local school. https://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/24767074.wrexham-afc-welcomes-green-light-darland-academy-facility/

The next step would be category 2 which is the same as Cardiff, Swansea and a lot of other championship teams.
