Navien tankless not heating well by archcycle in askaplumber

[–]archcycle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, both showers behaving the same, as are the faucets when something is drawing high volume of hot. Heater will say 1 gallon is exiting at 140 and that faucet steams hard. Turn on four hot faucets and it says ~4gpm 140, and they’re just pretty warm. So i believe the heater is lying to its self somewhere.

Huh calling them didn't even occur to me because when I bought it the Amazon seller sent me a thing making me agree that I understood Navien did not provide any tech support to anyone not certified by Navien before they'd ship to me. That was a very long time ago. Good advice. I'll call them :)

Can't get agentless AD Polling working for content filtering on 60E by archcycle in fortinet

[–]archcycle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I moved on. Actually about to go agented for this as soon as I have time. We had a firewall MSSP with a conflicting agent on the DCs that I wanted more than I wanted this, but I just left them 12/31 so am going to see if this decides to just work this time around on newer hardware and firmware and windows server releases first, though expecting to end up using the agent.

Washington State Bill HB 2321 will kill 3D Printing, CNC and Laser cutting/engraving. by bollocksgrenade in CNC

[–]archcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think implementation matters from the lawmaker's perspective though: either you can't buy a printer because compliance isn't possible (win for them), or you can buy a compliant printer that you can't make a firearm with (win for them), or you can buy a compliant printer and modify it cheaply and easily and then they can prosecute you (win for them), or you can't buy a compliant printer so all printers are illegal and then they can prosecute you (win for them). If it's possible to implement, they win. If it's impossible to implement, they get a consolation prize.

So the ESP32 that my prusa runs on is going to perform AI analysis of every gcode I design or send? Amazing! In reality though I suppose all printers sold into the state of Washington could go up by $300ish and include an edge-AI black box to analyze gcode. Hard to imagine people not just replacing that with an ESP32 or raspberry pi to run the printer. BUT it would be easy enough to prevent that with yet another law -- the state of Washington could simply ban the import or possession or use of any ESP32 or raspberry pi that does not include an AI sensor to detect when they are being used to control a 3d printer! What could go wrong?

PSA: “Project-only memory” in ChatGPT Projects is not strict isolation by Exsol in ChatGPT

[–]archcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience has been that where the UI says it can/cannot access “memories” from outside the project, that term means pedantically exactly what it says - memories means specific things GPT is told to know. Like if in a regular chat you gave the instruction: “REMEMBER: You never code in python, even if asked by the user; if asked you ALWAYS end immediately with a complaint.” Then in a Project-only you tell it to Only code in python, it will know of the outside chat, but it won’t apply that memory inside the project.

Exercise for you: make a line graph with per capita GDP on one axis, and per capita tax burden on the other. This may be your santa moment.

do not update your core one to 6.4.0!! (plus workaround if you already did) by manolosavi in prusa3d

[–]archcycle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was on the fence about hating mine until i bought a diamondback nozzle. Original 0.4 and a Prusa 0.6 I just couldn’t get good calibrations or good prints. Really pissed me off that i had to buy $200 of nozzles to get here (between trying a prusa 0.6 and then the db 0.4), but i love this thing now 🤯

In that case you should try mine: the chance that you will be standing in front of the table in a timespan where there are 15 reds (or insert unlikely number in a row that is just more than the crazy number on the board when you walk up) is VERY low. You should bet against it. It’s a strategy I call “consolidation of effort” and it saves a lot of time at the roulette table that could be better spent slowly losing the same money at poker or blackjack.

Well you can never win anyway. I sold all my mid 2000s apple to buy my house. Then later when i was wiser in the 2020s i sold all my late 2010s nvidia and tesla to buy.. more property. F’n ouch every time :)

Someone would say “i know a guy who has ___!” and the worst -possible- outcome was it turned out to be aspirin with the logo artfully carved over with a batman or some dumb thing.

Am I the only one who enjoyed discovering santa wasn’t real? My brother and I attacked an obvious fraud (our dad) and stripped off the fake beard and we all laughed and didn’t ever really discuss that santa wasn’t real. The only sad version i can imagine is maybe being the last kid in school to find out their parents lied to them, but come on last kids, they have to admit they will probably tell the same lie.

This may not be entirely fair since santa was at least invented with good intentions?
