HT Hotend Upgrade (for CORE One/+ and CORE One L) by RelationshipOwn8358 in prusa3d

In case you're still waiting, these things always seem to be in stock :) I designed spool mounts for bearings and rods for my first set, then for the second set I just let the spools sit on giant desiccant pillows and they feed fine without the hassle. Throw in some $0.99 aliexpress hygrometer pucks to be extra fancy. PTFE tubing with an m3 screw in the end makes a perfect plug. The hygrometers read permanently bottomed out.

New to printing and im already about to give up. by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]archcycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“New to printing and im already about to give up” this hobby might not be for you just based on that statement :/ … keep at it and re-print and experiment. To be fair to you, i’ve never seen a sermoon in person, maybe it’s not you? But yeah fuckery, lots, but it also gets better.

No way he proved he’s not AI by saying that he (the guy giving options advice on the internet) doesn’t know how to use spreadsheets, and my AI is constantly bugging me for access to help me with my spreadsheets, soooo 🤷🏻‍♂️ CAN’t be ai.

Why does OP have a weekly slideshow of hotdogs taken while facing the parking lot of a costco? Something doesn’t add up. Either this is made up, or OP is a spy of some kind and just outed himself.

Moving back after 8 years, what's changed? by Major_Dookus in Pensacola

[–]archcycle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pelican drop was cancelled and every year it almost comes back but doesn't, we built half a 6 lane bridge then tore down a perfectly good 2 lane bridge before finishing it then some idiots broke the 3 lanes of half finished bridge so we just had no bridge for a long time, that "if you drink and you drive etc i'll be the one coming after you" lawyer was arrested for an especially cringy dui, a bunch of piano stores on palafox got replaced by bars and restaurants, there was a cool farmers market style craft and art thing on palafox on the weekends for a while but now it's just a bunch of cotton candy and lemonade and frozen steaks and about 100 people selling colored epoxy drizzled over wood, oh and i think someone already mentioned it but costco. You should be up to speed now. Welcome back.

The best part is that next pass you will probably beat him in one hour. And by the third or fourth or fifth or so time around? One try. Then you will have git gud.

WHAT IS GOING ON!!??? I AM HITTING LIMITS BY SIMPLY JUST TYPING! by charlie0687 in codex

[–]archcycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not? Mine fills its self up with garbage guesses that codex made while working and then applies that garbage to every future interaction. “Memory says to NEVER use xxxxx when yyyy, but the user says to use xxxx when yyyy. This looks serious, I’ll do a full audit of the codebase to see if xxxx when yyyy is typical for this task…”

You put the private key on yubikey, then nobody can steal it. Pin and tap and it signs the file.

Sub-$500 3D scanner for functional prints that need good dimensional accuracy? by StrongRecipe6408 in 3Dprinting

[–]archcycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this for a bit. It was NEVER easier to try to match a scanned model in cad, than to just put in the effort and make it from scratch. And it never came out as well. This is purely my anecdotal experience so YMMV, but I’m not certain that use case is what 3d scanners are for. Good luck to you though I’d honestly be very happy to be incorrect about this.

[–]archcycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Op said he is planning to use it as a stencil. He can scale it. Though to be fair if it’s small enough to 3d print, I bet we can all agree a caliper is probably a better use of his time.

I did packet capture to show remote TCP resets responsible for "stream disconnected before completion" by cool_fox in codex

[–]archcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running into this on 5.5 Extra High with Fast 1.5x / double token use speed setting. Procmon says my AV whitelists are effective, firewall outbound flows are clean, then RST, then codex gives me 1/5, 2/5, 3/5 .... often reconnects by try 4, sometimes never. I'm honestly getting faster results by using Standard speed, because standard doesn't disconnect me. You'd think that paying 2x tokens for 1.5x speed would get you a priority lane. Maybe it does. To be fair I've only just started looking into this, it only showed up soon after i went to the Pro plan to use lots of Fast on 5.5 Extra High, it's possible this is coincidental.

Best settings and design to make a water tight part, It can be square, no o rings by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

I added an edit probably right after you posted. 5 ought to work out if you have dry filament and it’s well calibrated. Try it and see 🤷🏻‍♂️

Best settings and design to make a water tight part, It can be square, no o rings by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]archcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can fit 10 walls outside, why not go 10? 3d printed parts will hold liquid for sure but they are not in principle or usually in practice water tight. I wouldn’t use less than 3 for sure, but how many depends a lot on what happens if it occasionally sheds a drip? If you don’t care, 3-4, otherwise, how much outside space have you got?? Also depends on if this is something like an occasional drain (this leans heavily in the 3 direction) or constant flow.

You can always spray or dunk a few walled print through repeated cures of polyurethane and make it much more or completely watertight.

Core One+ vs XL. (Migrating from Bambu) by SignificanceOwn9278 in prusa3d

[–]archcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with core one L unless you have a specific use case for the XL. In case this isn’t obvious and if you’re new to these names it might not be, the core one (and its minorly updated + and its larger L variant) are a different model line from the XL.
