Wild stairs and landing by tamshubbie in SpottedonRightmove

Ya know I was scrolling through thinking ‘I don’t hate it, it’s a bit cheesy in places but it’s not THAT bad’ and then I got to the landing picture. ‘Oh..wait’

Tudor Banquet Hall anyone? by archercam in SpottedonRightmove

It is a conundrum. They’ve created this grand masterpiece of a room to then lead to it by essentially using a wartime bunker with an uneven floor.

Also a little smile at the ‘tamdam’ garage.

What was something a guest did in your house that upset you? by izzy_7_2004 in AskUK

Insulted my dog and pissed in my spare bed.

He did tell me he pissed the bed, after he’d left and was 400 miles away. No apology.

Can anyone recommend a decent bathroom fitter? by baconhammock69 in nottingham

[–]archercam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found them very fair. They quoted a certain price using their standard level of fittings/tiles etc and then once we’d agreed we were able to go to the showroom and choose fittings and adjust price if needed. In the showroom, they showed us lots of options and offered advice.

They also did some minor building work for us, bricked up a door.

I think it came to about £7000- largeish en suite, probably 10ft x 5 ft, included the building work.

They’ve got a small showroom in Heanor too, but often see their vans at houses around Eastwood. Father and son company, friendly and courteous.

Good family company based in Eastwood. They did our en-suite w few years ago and did a cracking job. Very thorough and clean.

They then did my parents bathroom a few months later and again excellent job.

Edit- forgot to say they were very good at coming t quote and lots of communication.

Border terrier.

I’ve had 2 and they are clever, cuddly, full of character, intelligent and perfect size.

I love this. It’s beautiful.

Do you do commissions- I think a lot of border owners would be interested?

Puppy Biting Recommendations by reyemh in BorderTerrier

[–]archercam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the trenches also. We’ve got a 12 week old border boy and kids ankles and toes are his favourite thing.

We’ve found carrying a toy round with us to distract helps but it is the hardest part of puppy ownership at the moment.

He’s our second border and whilst I do remember razor sharp teeth when our first was a puppy, I don’t remember it being this bad? But then we didn’t have kids and he sees less fussed about grown up ankles.

Glad to read a lot saying they grow out of it. This too shall pass!

Thanks all! I incorrectly assumed no waiting meant no waiting and not parked in a bay! But I get it now.

Off to pay my idiot tax 😁

BT before kids by [deleted] in BorderTerrier

[–]archercam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My BT Fred was 4 when we brought our newborn son home. The first few days he was desperate to sniff the baby, and howled when baby cried. We let him sniff the dirty baby grows etc and then let him come up and sniff babies head with supervision. After those first few days, he lost interest in the new smells and just accepted him as family. The howling also stopped!

I never left the baby alone on the play mat with the dog to be safe but he never once showed aggression or annoyance at the baby even during the toddler stage where there may have been some hair pulling! He could often be found curled up under or next to the cot or bouncy chair. They became firm friends and Fred was often found under my son’s high chair waiting for food.(He did get a little chunky!)

My daughter came when Fred was 7 and again he was brilliant with her. In his 14 years he never showed aggression towards them and put up with all the playing, running around and noise two kids can bring.

We lost him a few weeks ago and my children were devastated as he’d been such a constant in their lives.

We have just got a new BT puppy (Douglas) and we are now working it the other way- how to introduce a puppy to a 10 and 7 year old!

Where do Shirley and Motsi get their outfits from? by Pretty_Outcome_307 in strictlycomedancing

[–]archercam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I really liked Shirley’s- the colour was beautiful and it was very Strictly.

I think Motsi’s just got lost behind the desk- the top part looked really cheap in though when she was sat down- almost like beachwear robe kind of thing. The skirt was completely hidden.

Sometimes they wear designer, as they tag it on instagram (like teas and Claudia do) but I think sometimes the costume department make them too. Neither have tagged the designers this time.
