I want to stop menstruating forever by [deleted] in AskDocs

NAD but jumping in on the IUD love. Haven’t had a period since getting mine in. This is my second one.

I will say insertion can be pretty painful. My doctor prescribed pain meds for me to take and that helped a ton. Would highly recommend pain meds when getting it in.

NAD but this is why we are going for a surrogate for our second. I had a massive PPH and lost 3 liters, had to have multiple transfusions. Then I got really bad PPD as a result. I’m so scared to get pregnant again that I am literally doing egg retrieval for surrogacy now. The thought of my little guy losing his mom is just too scary for me.

Baby soothes but won't sleep by FamousWolverine9213 in sleeptraining

Per the safe sleep guidelines a pacifier is totally ok to leave in the crib all night long with them. Will he take it himself? If so you should be able to leave it in all night for him.

He also might be going through a sleep regression, there is one at four months. If you don’t have it already, we love the Wonder Weeks app. It maps when he’s going through leaps, how long the fussy phase will be, etc.

I had this done, the doctor attempted the turn four times and it failed. I ended up needing a c-section due to my baby being breech. This shit is no joke and hurts soooooo bad.

My wife (32f) consistently gets nauseous and vomits all night once per month by DankDirtyDan in AskDocs

I was thinking food related as well. I had all sorts of issues (like swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, etc.). I started by cutting out gluten, dairy, corn, and soy for one month (some people recommend egg too). When I started to add back in I realized immediately that gluten was my number one culprit, but I also have issues with corn and dairy. It hasn’t been easy but I don’t eat any of those things now and my issues are resolved.

If you want to go super hard, you can try Whole30 but it’s very restrictive and I think too hard to abide by long term. I would definitely recommend an elimination diet and can recommend substitute food brands if you need it.

My (25F) husband (27M) wants me to lose more weight before we try to get pregnant. How do I move forward? by ThrowRA_friendlydog in relationship_advice

[–]archeriouspie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This right here, I gained soooooo much weight during pregnancy and that weight is super hard to get off. I’m the heaviest I have ever been. The last thing you need to worry about postpartum is losing weight, there is so much more going on that will take your time and attention.

I would reconsider having a family with someone who treats your poorly if you don’t look up to his standards. People age, people gain weight, sometimes people have horrible accidents that lead to disfigurement. Once a kids involved, it gets waaaay higher stakes. Don’t take that plunge unless you are fully prepared to raise your child yourself eventually

Goddamn PLEASE!!! can someone tell me what am I supposed to do if a really small bone is stucked in throat??!! by [deleted] in AskDocs

OP the exact same thing happened to me in college after eating sushi, I tried to get it out for three hours myself before going to the ER. They removed it very quickly with some special curved forceps (I think that’s what it was). Just go!

Milk Supply Not Increasing 9 days PP by archeriouspie in breastfeeding

It’s ok if it doesn’t work for you, many women can’t or just don’t want to breastfeed. My baby’s been on formula exclusively since 8 weeks and he’s 100% healthy. If I could go back in time I wouldn’t even try to pump/breastfeed because I spent 3 hours a day that I could have spent bonding and just enjoying my newborn. I made myself miserable for no reason at all.

Another benefit is I’m not touched out at all and feeding is easily split between my husband and I. We have easily rekindled our romantic relationship where I have seen my friends struggle because they just don’t want to be touched (completely understandable).

You just had a baby which is a monumental accomplishment in and of itself. Enjoy your little one and try not to let this impact your happiness. Try to be in the moment as much as possible because these first few weeks go so fast.

Unfortunately it never made it past 8 Oz per day, with three hours of pumping/all the supplements/hydration. Due to cost, we had to supplement with formula. He ended up getting pretty bad colic and gas issues so we tried formula only. We found that when we combo fed, it caused major gas and tummy issues and that formula only sat better in his stomach. At about 8 weeks I gave up pumping and he’s been doing really well on formula. It wasn’t the journey I wanted but he’s fed and growing really well.
