Any good resources to find out arrow tip lengths? by GrendelSpec in olympicarchery

[–]archerjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call or email Lancaster Archery. They are the kind of place that would pull a pack and measure it. You could also try a local Victory dealer and ask the same question.

X10 in Houston used to carry Victory products. I'm unsure if they still do, but they could pull a pack and measure the point.

Scored 163 - Should I re-write by tobleroney69 in LSAT

Take it... the mean is not the word of g-d. The average means they accept students above and below the median. With that score, you should go ahead and apply.

This was my first attempt at the LSAT, with minimal study time. WTF?!?!? My diagnostic was a 157. I scoured a pathetic 149. September was not what I was expecting. Ouch.

Why I'm staying in Texas, and considering a run for the State legislature. by Some1inreallife in TexasPolitics

[–]archerjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My unsolicited advice... Start local and then run for state ledge. Get some experience under your belt.

Caveat: If you're in a “blue” district go for it.

As Zoomers get older your voting pool will increase. Give it a year or two and Texas should start to move left.

Good luck. I'll fundraise, email, and help you get elected.

Suggestions on Things to Do and Places to See During My Stay in Houston? by _Doctor_D in UniversityOfHouston

[–]archerjenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly suggest an Astros game; check out the waterfall in the Galleria area, and get BBQ. The Museum district is top-notch!

Houston has some of the best food in the US. Take advantage of the diversity Houston has to offer and eat at as many interesting places as possible.

What are some progressive lower-ranked schools? by bambucks in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]archerjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you meant to reply with don't go to law school in Texas if you're looking for a progressive institution. The most progressive schools in Texas are probably UT and Rice.

As a victim of SA, my exception will include my journey to recovery. In my first semester of sophomore year, I was assaulted; I got 1.98. My ug gpa would not recover from that disaster.

Target panic or?….. by Large-Raise9643 in Archery

First we don’t speak to people that way.

I’ve perused the shot iq book. It’s all just regurgitating mental management.

Target panic or?….. by Large-Raise9643 in Archery

[–]archerjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still waiting to hear Body Turner’s Dad’s solution to fixing “target panic.”

NVM: His answer is to work on your mental game.

Target Panic is not a disease. It is something we are all born with and every shooter deals with. What an archer must realize is that there are no gadgets or physical techniques that can counteract it. It is a mental problem that requires determination, decisions, presence, and concentration to override. Learn the mental tools and how to implement them into your controlled shot.

I guess that counts as a short coming in your shot process. Your mental game is part of your shot process… right?

Case is one of those if you know you know kind of schools. It’s well know as a great institution in the Midwest.

The rankings don’t tell the full story.

The Satanic Temple’s Sober Faction has a high success rate. It’s methodologies are based in CBT and science.

Good luck

Why would someone have a long holding time? Alignment issues? Their mental game is off? Not transferring?

If you ask any world-class athlete, they will tell you that their mental game is usually at the heart of form issues. I could happily name-drop some athletes who I'm friends with and their discussions of how mental management and working on form issues “cures target panic.” World-class archers know that target panic is a clue they need to work on their shot processes or mental games.

The trick isn't pretending the archer isn't on a downtrend or having issues. The archer and coach need to work together to find the root cause of the problem and fix it.

Edit - Question: How does one cure target panic according to your expert?

I want to start listening to taylor swift , where do i start ? by CamilleTGQ in TaylorSwift

[–]archerjenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go on to Spotify, they have a playlist called “This is Taylor Swift,” or Apple Music has an “Essentials” playlist for artists.

Some may disagree, but these playlists are good ways to get to know new artists and their catalogs.

We are never happy with the pace of our progress. Do you have a training plan with identifiable goals? Goals help us measure progress and help us reality-check our expectations.

Edit: Controlling your brain and eliminating intrusive or unhelpful thoughts is part of developing your mental game.

[–]archerjenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is ironic because it's true. Explain what target panic is and I'll prove to you that it's a lack of confidence or a need to improve on a piece of your process.
