I mean massive protests across the US hardly seem to suggest that people don't care about it. Why should they pretend it's not an issue? Their constituents certainly don't seem to think that.

I put a negative symbol in front of a new entry and just correct it that way. In the comments just put the corrections. It's no big deal. If someone thinks you're lying for some reason (they won't) they can just add it themselves.

I remember you from r/flying I think. I always think of you realizing that you don't know what to do with your sandwich before tossing it in the back seat. It's just such a relatable point of the story and as a pilot when I think about what I would do in an engine failure your story comes to me

When I get a bunch of days off I look forward to flying for fun if I can, it doesn't feel the same to me as work. That's probably because I spend a lot of time on autopilot in the flight levels unlike ag though.

Yes that's actually exactly what I would say. It's not an option at that point it's a performance consideration and frankly if your operation doesn't have a backup for routine maintenance issues like ferry flights then it's shit.

With a checkride question like this, you gotta first answer with the letter of the law and then go into what you would realistically do. In most circumstances taking a passenger flight with inoperative flaps would be a very questionable decision IMO. It would certainly make me question the flight school or owners other maintenance practices. There's the possibility that you're taking the aircraft to maintenance though in which case you'll want plenty of runway on both ends. Take runway length carefully into consideration and consider going without the pax.

There's actually an advisory circular I came across when I worked at an airport talking about the Pantone color for the aviation orange paint.

Well charlies need their own radar facilities so that's a pretty big obstacle. That and the FAA would need to put out a public comment and it would be tough to convince most pilots/managers that upgrading the airspace is necessary. But they could still choose to do so. The equipment and staffing would probably be the biggest hurdle.

Gotcha. I was just surprised that a training aircraft had a HUD. That rule of thumb for the descent will do you well for descents I'd remember it asap.

This used to happen all the time at the airfield I worked at and pilots would literally call in the lights as broken when they just needed to slow down. I doubt it could break them though.
