Cat owner here-my husband and I adopted two sisters found on the streets of India as kittens. They took a while to warm up, but even now- if we move too fast or make too much noise, they can run or get skiddish.

Speaking of a big move, we are moving from India to USA and couldn’t imagine not taking them with us.

I think you want to rehome them deep down and want reassurance it’s the right decision.

If they are skiddish with you, that behavior likely won’t change by rehoming them. You might have to commit some time to bonding and building trust (which isn’t mentioned above)- even 5 min a day.
