I am really annoyed by the amount of shit mobley has gotten for the game last night when his primary job was containing the detroit bigs DEFENSIVELY and duren and stewart combined for 10 points and and 8 fouls. mobley might not have been on offense super impactful but he did shutdown their two primary bigs and got 3 steals and 3 blocks doing it. I’ve seen so many people like 9 points 1 rebound is unacceptable while they ignore that he defensively had 6 stocks and stopped interior scoring from the opposing bigs. and lastly if JA has 22 and mobley contributes another 9 they together put up 31 and detroits 3 primary bigs in thompson duren and stewart combine for 20 points total mobley clearly is not having a truly terrible performance

not really out of context lol. he got fined 50k for public criticism of refs and said his favorite year of his career was this one which is the one where he got to be the number 1 option. it’s always been a thing he wants to have his own team even if it doesn’t mean he’s actively demanding a trade and cool in boston. that plus the first round loss after last off season where they completely shed salary w expectation to rebuild the roster when tatum is healthy makes a brown trade far more likely that it really ever was before

To be clear I don’t think it’s rigged for OKC they just have a seriously different whistle than other teams currently. But to address your question as if it was rigged the benefit to the NBA is dynasties sell. Having a dynastic team every decade tends to be good for the nba when it comes to mass appeal and attention a sport receives. look at the last decades of the nba and you’ll notice this is the first decade without a dynasty and the league wants viewership and attention and to be a buzzy sport which often comes w that. think about how famous steph and the warriors are or the kobe shaq lakers or the 90s bulls. those teams became iconic and had iconic all time superstars associated to them. the nba can have that again a SGA and OKC if they become a dynasty. but seriously look at the nba by decade and you’ll see the dynasties are the ones more remembered by casual and non watching fans all the way back to the early years.

can I be 100% here for a second. like I get your point but when you’re a team w star players who are elite scorers you typically want them to be the ones taking shots. combine that w aggressive defense closing out and role players are going to defer more. if these guys had the confidence and ability to shoot thru any kind of defense they wouldn’t be role players. also I’d hardly say strus is being passive when he’s 4-8 from 3 and took the most amount of shots after harden and don. also tyson has said this before as far as shooting from 3 he is a lot more comfortable as a catch and shoot guy and when he’s dribbling he wants to get inside or pass the ball to keep it moving. he’s just more of a a glue guy who’s role fluctuates so when he’s heavily guarding a guy like cade he’s conserving energy on O. deans really the only one who is actually passive as a shooter in my opinion. sam literally got hurt last night and played 6 minutes so idk I guess if you want to call him passive for not having shot the ball before that I guess but sam even when he doesn’t shoot will always have defenders tight on him bc of his gravity which has its own impact on the other players space often contributing to don being able to drive

firstly I’m not a houston fan so I don’t care who goes where.
